Taking a break from Lover Enshrined. I need some laughs, so I am reading Naked Pictures of Famous People. I'll get back to Lover Enshrined afer that.
Wobble to Death - Peter Lovesey This book has been out of print for over 20 years!! Thanks to Amazon Kindle, it's available again!! *woot*
It's a mystery set in the Victorian Era. There was a PBS Mystery series based on these novels, which feature a Detective named Sergeant Cribb and his somewhat hapless Constable Thackery.
Reading The Girl Who Played With Fire by Stieg Larsson. I'm also reading One For the Money by janet Evanovich.
Listening to 'Time Traveler's Wife' again - just saw the movie and decided to go back to the book to compare. My hubby didn't read the book and was completely lost in trying to follow the movie.

OMG....The Strain is CREEPY. I am not quite done yet.I haven't had a book make my heart race in a LONG time. I LOVE it!

I'm sooo interested in this book now! What's it about, and why is it so creepy?
You definitely should Anne. I finished it last night and was SUPER disappointed when I found out none of the Ohio libraries carry the 2nd and 3rd books!!BTW - these vamps are NOTHING like I've read in the past...more alien. It's almost like the only reason they are called "vampires" is because they consume blood. I am going to get the audiobook next to creep me out even more! lol
Oh maybe thats why lol! I didn't even notice, I was so anxious to read them. I have them on my list so hopefully I don't forget to search the library webpage for them next year!
It would absolutely make a great movie. They need something to make vamps creepy. I love the Twilight series BUT I also love when the vamps aren't lovey-dovey and will kill you without a second thought. I know, creepy. lol
I have it on my list I think. I know I checked the movie out once but never got around to watching it. I definitely want to read the book though.
I am currently reading Stiff by Mary Roach. I never thought that the things that happen to a dead body could be humorous!
I'm audiobooking Plum Lovin'. Some parts are pretty funny and I find myself chuckling at work. I think the co-workers think I've gone crazy. lol.
Just finished the second Vampire Academy book. I flew through them. Brought along Dreams Underfoot by Charles de Lint to read on my honeymoon.
Jo wrote: "The book is a lot better than the movie but the movie is also very good. "I have it on my list...hopefully I'll get it soon.
I started Magic Bites again last night. I'm hoping I will actually read it this time. I've heard it's good so I really want to like it. lol
Bored of the Rings A Parody of J. R. R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings - Harvard LampoonThis book was a whole lot better back when I originally read it, at least 28 years ago. Perhaps you have to be high to appreciate it.

LMAO!
About to read Succubus in the City - Nina Harper. Lily has what looks like the perfect life: a fabulous day job at a fashion magazine; a killer figure she can literally never lose; and a great group of girlfriends who are always there for her. Oh, and she also just-so-happens to be a succubus: an immortal demon who draws her power from other men's pleasure. Although working for the Devil does have it's perks, Lily's realising that serving up bad boys to the fiery pits of Hell is just getting ...well, lonely. Just once, Lily would like to wake up in the morning to something more than a pile of ashes but, contractually bound to Satan, she will only be released if someone truly loves her. Then the devilishly handsome PI Nathan Coleman enters her life and Lily begins to wonder if he might be the man she's been waiting for. He wants to ask Lily a few questions about a missing man, but suddenly someone - or something - wants Lily and her demon friends dead, and Nathan seems to know more than he'll admit to. Can a sweet-talking mortal and a girl from Hell ever really find true love?
Seducing the Spirits - Louise YoungI'm very excited, as I won this book from FirstReads!! The novel is based on the author's experiences as a graduate student doing ornithology fieldwork in Panama, where apparently, she learns a lot about the native tribespeople on the remote island where she is stationed, and about herself.
Mad Hatter's Holiday - Peter Lovesey
The Peter Lovesey fest on the Kindle continues!
Going to start Joe Hill's 20th Century Ghosts today or tomorrow. I rarely read short stories unless I'm reading an anthology featuring several authors. Joe here's a big exception, along with his father.
I finished Lover Avenged. For me, it was my least favorite of the BDB series. I am going to reread Kitty takes a holiday by Carrie Vaughn before reading the others of the series I haven't read.
I'm reading What Happens in London by Julia Quinn....So far, it's good, but I only just began reading it...
Finished Heiress For Hire by Erin McCarthy and The Colour of Magic (Discworld #1) by Terry Pratchett. I just startd Dead Over Heels by MaryJanice Davidson.
Just finished Paradise Valley and I was disappointed. I was expecting a book mainly about Rick & Liz, but they were just one of several couples profiled. It was a good enough read, but not what I wanted (we readers do get demanding, don't we?!)Now starting The Dream Thief - Zane will let me fill in the 'Z' on my A-Z Character Challenge!
Finished Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass and it was so easy to read. Very fun. Now moving on to Stop Dressing Your Six-Year-Old Like a Skank And Other Words of Delicate Southern Wisdom before I through myself back into fantasy series.
I am now reading An Act of Mercy by Peter Tremayne. It is another one of his Sister Fidelma novels that takes place in medieval Ireland. Some of the names of people and places are difficult, but other than that it isnt bad.
I just finished "What Looks Like Crazy..." by Pearl Cleage for a book club my family started. I'm not much of an Oprah book reader...and now I know why. The ending was abrupt. No like. lolDon't know what's next...maybe Ill Wind...

LOL! If Oprah likes a book I pretty much know it's not for me!
Taking another break from The Golden Notebook to read The Time Traveler's Wife. Someone happened to lend it to me last week. Not quite what I was expecting, but interesting.
Anne wrote: "LOL! If Oprah likes a book I pretty much know it's not for me! "That's exactly how I felt before reading it and decided to give it a try anyway. The whole story would have been better had it not been all surface writing...like she barely told a story. Right before the ending came I thought "oh now we're getting to the good stuff...drama, drugs, dirty pastor"..then it was just over. The book could have lasted at least another few chapters.
I am a slave to literary fashion. But only because I was able to buy it from BOMC for bonus points.
The Lost Symbol - Dan Brown
Elvia wrote: "Anne wrote: "LOL! If Oprah likes a book I pretty much know it's not for me! "That's exactly how I felt before reading it and decided to give it a try anyway. The whole story would have been be..."
Ouch! I hate it when that happens! I guess some people must like that sort of thing, 'cause there are a lot of books out there like that. As far a Oprah goes, I'll start listening to her recommendations when she says something like, "I just found the best book about a professional wizzard named Harry! You guys have got to read it!".
Just finished the marvellous Keeping the Dead - Tess Gerritsen. Will now read Genesis - Karin Slaughter.
LMAO Anne...very true! Wouldn't that be a great Oprah Show?! LOLI'm getting very anxious to read The Lost Symbol but of course my library wait is over 600. I am going to buy it on Friday (hopefully).
Just finished Fragile by [Author:Shiloh Walker] and it wasn't what I expected at all...This may just be me, but it felt like she was trying to go all Nora Roberts one me...but since I'm a NR fan, it didn't really bug me, I just found it a bit surprising.Last night I started [Author: Nalini Singh]'s Branded by Fire (and I'm already loving it!) ...and this morning I was looking for a specific book that I'm due to mail out, but got distracted by Linda Winstead Jones' 22 Nights though it's the second in a series, (where I haven't read the first book), so I'm hoping I won't be too confused.
Finished The Dream Thief and LOVED it! Now, I have to get Queen of Dragons so I can read Maricara's story **sigh**Just started Georgette Heyer's Cotillion and have been laughing over the silly conversation between Kitty & Freddie - Kitty is a potential heiress but must marry or she'll be destitute, but both are appalled at the idea of marriage, so of course Kitty proposes a faux betrothal; well, we know where that will lead, but I love the journey Heyer takes us on before the destination is reached.

I can't wait for Lost Symbol! I requested from the library on the day it came out, but I'm still #28 in line! Guess I shouldn't complain. 600? Wow!
I'm reading Succubus Dreams. So far, so good!
Jo, I loved A Dirty Job! Hope you enjoy it.
