Someone told me yesterday that if you are an Amazon Prime member you get access to free books through a Kindle Owners' Lending Library. I've never heard of such a thing! Does anyone here have access? Are current popular books in the library? Like, for example, Julia Spencer-Fleming's latest? Or The Goldfinch?

I don't know about those two titles, Carol, but on the Amazon page for each book the listing will state Kindle library free for Prime members if it is available. (you can have one out at a time and the one you borrowed doesn't have a time limit, it just blocks you from borrowing another until it is returned.) There is a way to search for a list of Prime / eligible to borrow books, but I find it easier to just notice the availability while browsing for titles I want to read. It is easy to notice on the full website, not sure about the mobile site.
It doesn't look like either of those are available from the free library, so I'm a little less excited. I searched for a couple more as well. Maybe the titles are older ones.

I have been a prime member for about 2 years, but the amount of books that I am interested in is greatly under estimated by their lending library. Most are unknown authors, or older books. I think in the 24 months, I may have found 8 or so that I have read. I totally am a prime member because I get 2 day shipping!!

and tons of movies and TV programs! I didn't hear about that until a few months ago and having been off to the races. Currently working my way through Justified.

There is another Kindle program where you get an email with a selection of 3-4 new books and you can choose one. It is separate from the library loan program. They are not blockbuster authors.

Oh.......I LOVE Justified!!! Season 2 is still the best one, I've known people like Mags Bennett.
Yes, Timothy Olyphant does equal yum! And it is so funny to see him pop up in other series, like The Office and The Mindy Project. Funny that I first saw him in Damages and absolutely hated his character from the beginning. But everything else I loved (or lusted may be better word, LOL)Ann wrote: "Carol and Liz

Mel, did you ever see Winters Bone? This season reminds me of the characters in that movie. Jennifer Lawrence before she was Jennifer Lawrence, and she really knocked it out of the park.
