I got it finally. The movie really does follow the book. I about 70 pages in. The biggest difference I've noticed so far is the appearances and I don't like the Seeker even more.

40% done. I like the way Wanderer's character is developing. But the writing is very poor. I feel like the author had to write this book as a class assignment and procrastinated until the night before to finish it. But I think the plot is creative.

So yesterday I read about 240 pages, and while I did really enjoy Twilight (I don't think it could have gotten so popular if it didn't have some merit) I think I prefer this! The story is so different and while an old concept, Stephenie Meyer makes it seem original. I really like both Wanderer and Melanie, though Melanie seems a little naive considering she's meant to have been through so much. Jeb, Jamie and Ian are my favourite characters besides those-Jeb particularly! Another thing I've seen the movie so I understood the concept right off, but I feel like the first little bit might have been confusing had I not already known the basics. Can I get a second opinion?

(view spoiler)[ Seems like it's a bit different from the movie in that they start with the brain being put in (and from the sounds of it, she seems like she might be one of the first human hosts, since everyone was observing the Healer so closely? And that Wanderer doesn't know what's going on yet? But I'm not very far into it so I could be proven wrong later. (hide spoiler)]

Finished! And omg, I loved it! I'm so conflicted on whether it should be a series because I want more of this world, yet it workd so well as a standalone. The ending was perfect, although (view spoiler)[ I really didn't get Wanda's last moment with Jared. It's unfair on Melanie and Ian, and 6there was never anything between Jared and Wanda specifically anyway (hide spoiler)]

I just finished it! (view spoiler)[ I agree with you about the last conversation between Jared and Wanda. Wanda just felt things for Jared because of the body she was in, her soul loved Ian, and Jared wasn't in love with Wanda so it was a bit weird. And I thought the whole age thing with her new body was weird, that she had to lie about it. It would have been easy to just have her be 18 instead of lying about it, so that was a weird choice on the author's part.

Also, hard to believe how old Jared was. This book works a bit better if I pretend that all the main characters are in their late teens, early 20s. Even Jaime seemed a lot younger than he actually was, especially with how everyone babied him. (hide spoiler)]

This was so long! It took me more than a week to finish.
(view spoiler)[I didn't feel like Wanda really cared for Ian even after her declaration that he was her soulmate. I mean his basic obsession with her and love for her was way more. I can understand it because of her personality but I didn't feel that was believable at all.
This was really similar to the movie but without all the action. I had to laugh that the Seeker as human form was really annoying.
I enjoyed this but it had a really slow pace (hide spoiler)]

Done (view spoiler)[ I was reading this book throughout the beginning of the month slowly, but surely I finished it today. I figure I should comment besides me babbling on about this. One of the major things I put in my review is I was very skeptical reading the book because I just came off that Twilight high and I loved everything about it. I didn't want this book to be ruin that for me. I did watch the movie first and I remember bits of it. I really enjoy the book, but I think maybe I would of have liked a lot better if I read first. My favorite part was the flashbacks of Melanie. I just loved learning about her life. I also love how the inner fighter between Wanda and her. I do have the say like the movie better than the book just because of the order (hide spoiler)]
