Thanks for asking, today is somewhat better. The muscle pain is almost gone, but there's still a tightness in my chest from it. Or that may just be anxiety...afraid that the stent is going to come out. However, I did finally get to talk to someone today and they told me it's extremely rare for the stent to come out unless you're really doing something to make it come loose. And I was reminded that I've been through two surgeries in about a week's time so there's going to be some residual pain. I'm told to rest and not overdo anything, but that walking is good. Continue with the low fat diet as the bile tube gets used to not having a gallbladder (and Suzanne - I'm sorry, I didn't answer your question yesterday. I was told the low fat diet is for 4-6 weeks and than I can slowly reintroduce other foods after that. I think it really depends on how your body can handle those types of foods after. We'll see.....), and do not lift anything over 5 pounds. That is the most difficult one. I picked up Morgan's backpack the other day, not thinking about it, until I realized she had a couple of heavy, hard-cover books in it along with some other stuff. Oops. I keep having to remind myself that I can't pick up my cat as she's close to 9 pounds. And this morning, I went to grab Morgan's backpack again, forgetting again, and Greg jumped in front of me to grab it with a look on his face, like WTF are you trying to do?
I did get my post-op appt. moved up to 4/1 from 4/14, and they won't give me a work release note until then at the earliest. :/ So I'm stuck at home for a few more days.....
But, I finally did get more sleep last night than I have been lately, so that has helped and I'm feeling a little better today. Not a ton, but I'll take a little over none.

OMG Stacy. That's quite a story. I hope you're on the road to recovery now and you feel better soon.
Finally starting to feel normal again! I'm still constantly reminding myself of the five pound weight restriction, and it's really annoying. But, at least I can move about pretty much as I want now. I stopped taking my daily dose of acid reducers thinking that it was all gallbladder related and have found out the hard/painful way that it is not. So, I'll be getting back to taking those.
Thanks everyone for the wellness thoughts, I appreciate that!
Suzanne, don't let my story stop you. I can't remember if I said it or not, but my doctor had previously performed 2,500 of these surgeries without complication. I'm not going to say that you will have absolutely no problems, because one never knows. I didn't think I would, and it REALLY sucks that I did. But I do think it'll be better on the other side. No more gallbladder attacks to worry about - that is definitely a plus.
Kourtney - I've been listening to the second Game of Thrones book. It is SO LONG!!! I have about five or six hours left on it before it gets sucked back (digital library audiobook) tomorrow. And I started a new series - the Rose Gardener Mysteries by Denise Grover Swank - they all have a number in the title, the first book is Twenty-Eight and a Half Wishes, and it was really, pretty good. I look forward to reading the next one. I started it the night before I ended up in the hospital because I couldn't sleep and needed a new book to read on my iPad. And that's the book that I read while in the hospital, unable to sleep. Then, I finished it during the times when I was awake after coming home. It was an easy read, and a great escape considering what reality was for me at the time.
Now I'm just waiting for my doctor appointment on the first so I can go back to work and stop going insane.
What's going on with everyone else?

My week ahead looks super crazy. Spent part of the evening trying to figure out how to download audio books to my IPhone to listen to in the car. I'll be driving in and out of Houston 3 times (hour plus each way depending on traffic) for a robotics competition that my son will be competing in. Just trying to make that lovely drive a little bit enjoyable. Hope everyone has a good week.

Thanks, Jill, yeah, the CO2 sucked in a huge way. Most of it went away after the second day though.
Hope you figured out how to get books on your phone, and safe travels!! Good luck to your son, let us know how it goes!

I also want to start buying regular books rather than ebooks because my dream house is going to have a room where all four walls are covered in books, top to bottom. I could do that with all the ebooks I have, but I've sold so many books to Half Price Books over the years, that my real book library is a little small nowadays.
Has anyone read The One & Only by Emily Giffin? I started it over the long weekend and absolutely loved it. I was hooked. I'm not a football fan (don't even understand it) and I had no idea what the book was about other than college football. I didn't even look up reviews before I read. But when I finished and went to write my own review, I was blown away by how low the ratings/reviews were!!

We hosted our grandson's first birthday party at our house yesterday--we had about 40-50 people here!
I've hit a bit of a reading slump just because I've been so busy, but hoping to start up again.
Bianca--I read The One & Only and I really liked it! I gave it 4 stars
Stacy--So glad you are getting back to normal! Hope your recovery continues to speed along.
Hope you all have a great week! :)

I am also going to start buying more regular books. I also sold a ton of my books to Half Price Books when I moved, because it was getting to be a pain to pack them up & move them every time I moved. But my boyfriend has 2 bookshelves full of books and when I move in, I am going to get a matching shelf and I want to fill mine too. :)

Yeah, there were a LOT of mixed reviews!! I recommend not reading the blurb or people's reviews and just jump in. That's what I did and I loved it!! I do think that if I stopped to think what the story is about and what people were saying, I wouldn't have gone in with an open mind.
Bianca wrote: "Stacy, I really hope you feel better!! I'm sorry you have to deal with all of this. :("
Thanks Bianca, I'm doing MUCH better now! And I have the procedure scheduled to get the stent out on May 5th. Then I'll finally be past it.

I hate to say it because I usually love Emily Giffin's books, but I did not like this one. I love football so I liked that aspect of it, but I did not like the main character and I didn't like her with her friend's dad. It was just too weird to me.

********SPOILER ALERT FOR THE ONE & ONLY!!!!!********
Yeah, Stacy, when I think about it, it's really weird. If I had known their relationship was going to happen before I started reading, I totally would've gone in with a closed mind. But I think that since I had no idea, it helped me kind of understand her feelings. I honestly thought that she was going to end up with her best friend's brother!
At the end of the day, yeah, it's weird, but overall I loved the book! It was different than the other ones I've read.

My end is in sight as well - just found out from the doctor late last week that I have 3 more weeks of work and then I am officially on maternity leave! Until then, because I have started having some small complications, I have been put on a reduced work schedule at work. I work only 6 hours a day now, and my boss is stressing out that I'm not there anymore. Errrr...I told everyone when I was 5 weeks pregnant. I'm now 31...how did you not find a back up in that amount of time??? Oh well. I need to relax. Time to cram as much reading as I can in until the baby comes!

Stacy I am so sorry to hear about your nightmare from gallbladder surgery. Fingers crossed that this is the end of the craziness and suffering that you have been in.
Not much happening in my world. I have a job interview on the 24th and wish I could speed up time to make it sooner. I also have failed at listening to an audio book. The one I chose was 11 1/2 hours long and I just couldn't ever carve out the time to listen to it.

That's right Kourtney, don't worry about what they're going to do, if they're waiting until now to find someone to temp, it's not your problem, you gave plenty of notice.
Other than that, everything is still going ok?

I'm with you Julie, I'm about to become a Great Aunt. I was at my niece's baby shower yesterday and my brother and I were talking about teenaged girls and all the BS and drama that ensues. A little later, I was talking to my niece about what to expect as her due date gets closer and my brother looks over and says, "Not too much longer and you'll be going through it too." I was like, WTF? Morgan is only nine! Thinking he was talking about the topic I had moved on to with my niece - pregnancy. LOL, he was still on the previous topic of crazy teenaged girls.

Good luck at your interview! Only a few more days!
I had to laugh about your audiobook comment. I have decided rather than try to read all of the Game of Thrones books, that I would listen to the audiobooks. Book one was long, but I was able to get through it. Book two was longer and that was tough, it was about 30 hours. Book three.......I don't know exactly how long, but there were 37 parts to it and each one was between an hour and five minutes and an hour and ten minutes. So I'm sure it was more than 40 hours long. It was a CHORE! Even though there were some really intense parts in book three. It was SO LONG. I'm debating whether or not I really want to listen to the rest. Especially as it seems the show has really taken a turn away from the books for a few of the characters.

Speaking of shows - does/did anyone watch Gossip Girl? It's been on my Netflix list forever, and somewhere around the second week of me not being able to work, I started binge watching it. I think I got through the first two seasons before I went back to work. I'm just starting season four today. I was going to try to read the books before I started it, but I figured why bother? I have enough books on my to read list as it is.
The show is oddly addicting. You'd think that I would get sick of all the scheming and cheating and hooking up that makes up the show, but just when it seems like it's starting to get old, there's a quick twist in the plot that comes out of nowhere. By no means am I trying to say that it's a mystery or anything like that. It's a teenage soap opera for sure, but sometimes things just happen that I didn't see coming, and that renews my interest. :) Guilty pleasures.

Everything is going as well as it can - I've been getting Braxton Hicks contractions sporadically which isn't fun. And still getting dizzy spells and heart palpitations but I can't stop them. We just had my baby shower last night and we did great on getting the basics of what we need! 2 more weeks then time for my leave!

I am the same way Julie! I love How I Met Your Mother and a couple years ago, started watching it on Netflix in order. It took me probably a little over a year to get caught up to what they had available, then I had to wait for them to load the last two seasons. That is one of my most favorite shows and it's really hard to watch the reruns that play on cable because they're out of order.

Dizzy spells and heart palpitations......do you get really hot and feel somewhat faint too? Shortly after I had Morgan, was having the same symptoms and found out I have an under-active thyroid (too bad it isn't over-active). Which means a pill every day for the rest of my life. Yay..... Good news is though, that it's been almost 10 years and I haven't had to change the dosage. I definitely can tell if I've forgotten to take it for a few days though - the dizziness and heart palpitations. yuck
But YAY! You've gotten most of what you need. It's so fun to open up all that baby stuff!! :) We just had the baby shower for my niece - but it was a diaper shower. That was the coolest idea, I wish someone had done that for me when I had Morgan. You wouldn't believe how many diapers that girl walked away with. And I got to make my first attempt at making a diaper cake. Word to the wise - when the tutorial says to have someone help you....have someone help you.

I started to watch that show last summer....or was it the summer before? I think I watched all of the first season and started on the second one, but I lost interest. Some of the accents were so hard to understand, if I wasn't completely concentrating on the show, I'd miss half of it. So I gave up.

The Killing--I think it originally aired on AMC

Hi Dawn! I have had Towies on my list on Hulu since it has Stephanie Pratt in it (I loved The Hills). I'm going to start watching it today since you and Kourtney said it's good and I love reality shows!!!!

Julie, I’m the same way! I have to watch and read in order too. I have so many shows currently airing that I have been following from the beginning, but Netflix keeps adding really good ones that I keep forgetting about my shows on TV. Haha oops.
Dawn, that actually sounds like something I might want to start watching. Haha. Is it called Towie or The Only Way is Essex? I like having random shows I can watch on my iPad while I’m at the gym, so this could be a good one! Wait is it a reality show?
Kourtney, so exciting your baby is almost here!!! Do you know the exact due date/month they’re predicting?

At first it seemed a little cheesy and fake...wasn't sure how I felt. But I'm on season three now and it's awesome.
Does anyone watch the show Mistresses on ABC? I really like it!! Alyssa Milano (from Charmed is in it), and it's fun to see her on Charmed now.
