Peta Gentry | 21 comments Hi Shalini, and thanks for the new site. Could you please put that authors submitting their work for consideration should have at least eight reviews on Amazon at the beginning of the submission form? It's dispiriting to find out towards the end of the process. I understand why. Sadly, I only have three 5-star reviews for my book (so far), so I'll have to wait....

Hi Peta, We do ask authors to read our requirements section before filling out the form, but I'm sorry you don't yet have enough reviews. I'm an author too and it does take a while to gather them in - you'll get there! For future reference, we feature 'new releases' with no star-rating minimum. Hopefully, we'll be able to work with you soon :)

Hi Desley, Links to both Amazon US and UK are sent out to readers, depending on which site they request.

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments Had my book Alloria on booksoda this weekend, and I'd love to be posting now to report all the sales I've had; unfortunately it hasn't resulted in a single sale.

Not blaming the site, and it was free, so worth a go, and I thank them for posting it. The site is new, so maybe not many readers have signed up as yet. Maybe my book doesn't appeal to the casual browser and all my sales so far are the result of recommendation. Who knows? Certainly not I!

Shalini Boland (shaliniboland) | 10 comments Hi David,

Thanks for the feedback, and sorry you didn't make any sales. As a brand new site (less than 2 weeks old), sales aren't going to be where we want yet. But as we build our mailing list (big plans afoot), authors will start to see better results. That's why we're completely free to promote at the moment. Your book will stay on our site, so as word spreads, you should get more eyes on it.

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments Thanks Shalina, I'm trying to spread the word myself.

On the upside, posting my book was painless, and the site does look pretty cool. As I said above, not blaming your site in the least. Hope it takes off.

:~)

Shalini Boland (shaliniboland) | 10 comments Thanks, David! It's always good to have feedback :)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I expect not much will happen with sales until readers know about the site.

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments Thanks Shalini

I've signed my book up for a promo on one of three days, 27 or 28 Feb and/or 1 March.

My book will be free during that time, if I can get it perma free on Amazon. Otherwise it will only be free everywhere else. It's the first in a series, hence the freeness. Yes I am hoping to actually build some momentum before I launch books 3 and 4 in my very inappropriately named K'Barthan Trilogy.

Cheers

MTM

That's great. Thanks so much for signing up, MTM. Our freebies and heavily discounted promos tend to do quite well, so fingers crossed!

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments Fingers crossed that I can make it perma free on amazon by then. I've heard it's very difficult.

I think it's totally random pot luck. If you can, get a few different people to report it free to Amazon.

Yep, he's one of our Davids. Of course, that means the group didn't get the money from the associate tag...

I actually didn't buy it straight through the link, as I knew the name was familiar I checked his other titles, but as I did it on my new tablet, I don't know how to do the associate tag on there anyway.

Brilliant. Thanks. Now I just have to get the other two books out before it's freeness runs out of steam! I thought this would take months. It's taken two days.

Cheers
