Narnia has a lot of Christian symbolism. He meant that back in their world (our world) they should know him as Christ.
Finally, an intelligent comment! Thank you. Any thoughts on the symbolism of the stable in the Last Battle?
Aslan taught the kids about their own world by showing them lessons in another world. In Narnia, they could learn things that they might not notice here on Earth because they'd lived there all their life. Yes, C. S. Lewis wrote the books to teach about God but there are many other lessons that work on the same principle of knowing a precept by another name back at their home.
