Rhonda | 1 comments Looking for MYSTERY book where Man inherits money from Dad and opens a unique agency that discreetly investigates crime scenes before the police -- it was a fairly new book that looked to be a FIRST in a new series that was beginning. And I read it I am pretty sure within the last year--but it could have been last 2 years at the most. Other things about the book
(that could possibly be spoilers) : he and his brother are at odds, i think i remember his brother was seeing a psychiatrist, within the story a mobster tried to get him to do something but he refused on honor, and i think he used to have a relationship with someone on his team...his team included a tech person, etc. And his main partner was an ex con.

Perhaps David Rosenfelt's Andy Carpenter series? https://www.goodreads.com/series/4265...

The description of the first book "Open and Shut" reads: "...his dad, New Jersey's legendary ex-D.A., drops dead in front of him at a game in Yankee Stadium. The shocks pile on as he discovers his dad left him with two unexpected legacies: a fortune of $22 million that Andy never knew existed...and a murder case with enough racial tinder to burn down City Hall."

One Amazon reviewer of "Dog Tags" says: "Willie is Andy's friend and his partner in the canine-friendly Tara Foundation. Willie is also a falsely accused ex-con who spent seven years in prison until Andy proved his innocence."
