Deleting Books from Shelves

So I have searched and endlessly searched. Early on in my GR life I got extremely one-click happy. I have since then tried to clean out my shelves. The only way I have found to delete books is to individually click 'x' on EACH book. I have over 5,000 books on my shelves...that would take forever. So I had the bright idea to create a 'delete' shelf and throw them on there, then delete the actual shelf. Yeah...all that did was throw all of those books onto my READ shelf.... Ugh.... Now, GR won't even let me 'x' out single books. There HAS to be a way to mass delete books. I don't mind individually clicking them, but there has to be a way to do that and not have to wait for the page to refresh each time.

Can anyone help me PLEASE!!!

Yes.

Go to My Books - click on the Delete shelf.

Click the "batch edit" option next to the search field. A new panel will open. Click on select all. Choose exclusive shelf, I'm assuming to-read. Click "remove all". Reload the page. If you have any books left they might be on a different exclusive shelf. Repeat process for all exclusive shelves.

The books are now gone. Go and delete the shelf from the shelf-edit page. If shelf Delete is exclusive the process is the same.

Warning: If you delete the shelf Delete without first removing the books will move to another exclusive shelf and will complicate things.

I have tried that multiple times over the past few months. It never deletes ANY books....

Are you removing the books from their exclusive shelves or from the delete shelf?

Exclusive shelves. I don't have the delete shelf anymore. I deleted that originally, and it threw all the books on my read shelf. That was the problem I was having to begin with.

And you say the batch edit doesn't work? If so you should report it in the feedback group. I personally have used it to move hundreds of books, but not recently so I don't know if it is buggy right now.
