Thanks, Melinda. Hope you enjoy it.
Milou--thank you from all of us, for signing up for the Sweet Team! It's a great chance to receive free books, and it is a great help to the authors here, when a reader leaves a review (even if very brief) and a star rating. No one needs to feel overwhelmed if they've seen really long, wordy book reviews--sometimes its even better to be brief and not give away the whole story. :)
And if someone receives a book that just isn't their cup of tea, no hard feelings--if it isn't one you enjoy enough that you want to finish it, you can just let the coordinator know and she can arrange for you to receive a different one. Easy! :)

Helen, I started reading it last night. I am so loving the hedgehogs!!!

Helen, ahhhh, hedgehogs. We had every type of pet under the sun while our kids were growing up, and I never said no. But dad had finally reached his limit when our daughter wanted a hedgehog. She was around ten, and she typed up a huge report--something like twenty pages, on the care, feeding and selection of hedgehogs. Her dad remained adamant...and to this day fifteen years later, i still feel badly about it. I so regret not going out and getting her that hedgehog anyway, because in retrospect, most of the animals were her brothers' and she wanted one so badly. She's nearly done with her MA in special education and has just started student teaching. She couldn't have any pets at all while living in student housing at college, but when she moves away and starts her first job, I think I'm going to finally get her that hedgehog. :)

My daughter's boyfriend has a chinchilla and she has cats. My daughter and her boyfriend are not engaged yet, but apparently the two types of animals do NOT get along, and both animals have long lifespans. Should be interesting some day if they have to merge their "Pets".

Tweeted and FBed for you, Kimberly! Good luck with the new release.

Thank you, Joanne. So pleased you're enjoying the story.

When and where is the story set?
ELYSSA is set in modern day America. Elyssa Rose is a twenty-five year old girl who has just inherited her uncle’s corner building in downtown Ft. Worth, Texas. She has moved into the upstairs apartment and opened a flower shop on the ground floor. Across the side street from her flower shop is a small gym owned by Jaxon Crutchfield. (This is important, as you will later see.)
Flowers, flower design, and all of the many problems associated with the business will play a large roll as the story progresses. There will be pictures and links to actual flower arrangements by real designers.
What can you say about the main characters?
Elyssa Rose is strong-willed and determined. Her older brother calls her stubborn, but she choses to view her personality as persevering. She’s been living on her own since the age of eighteen and worked her way through college to gain her bachelor’s degree in business. She loves flower arranging, and her dream is to become a part of an elite group of world-wide florists that she has been following online. She’s working hard, but business is very slow, so she worries about finances.
Jaxon Crutchfield, thirty years old, runs a booming business at his gym in downtown Ft. Worth. He is six feet and two inches of well-defined muscles, topped by a handsome face, and a sharp wit. He is a bit of an alpha male, so he naturally clashes with his attractive, but independent, female neighbor.
What is the main conflict?
Jaxon and Elyssa clash on almost every level. She sees him as pushy, arrogant, and controlling, while he views her as obstinate and irrational. But of course, they have a strong physical attraction to each other. Jaxon wants to buy Elyssa’s building so that he can expand his gym, which is rapidly outgrowing its cramped quarters. She refuses to consider his idea, convinced that to do so would be admitting defeat.
The story is being written week by week. It is even possible that you, as a reader, could influence the direction of the story with your comments!
