Bonus: Wing
No Good Duke Goes Unpunished by Sarah MacLean
Finished 1/29
4½★
Dog: "...in the way they seethed and barked and howled like dogs on the hunt for blood." ~ KL 3111
Wing: "...his wings wide and useless behind him..." ~ KL 5552
Englishman: "The man was a duke, powerful and wealthy, with all of London at his feet if he wanted it." ~ KL 423
Unusual Name: "But the Duke of Lamont, known throughout London's darkest corners as Temple, fought for peace." ~ KL 101
Statue: "If I hadn't broken that statue..." ~ KL 3824
Temple and Mara's story was fabulous. Temple is known as the "Killer Duke" around London after everyone thinks he murdered Mara Lowe on the night before she was to marry his father twelve years ago. Now she is back in his life and he wants revenge. I found it hard to connect with Mara's character until later in the book after she revealed her motive for her actions. Her brother, Christopher, was a real idiot. I have loved every book in this series and can't wait for Chase's book next. The ending was a nice surprise and interesting set up for Chase's story.
Week One
Read : The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time
For: Dog and Bonus Word : Wing
4 stars
Dog -In the title The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time
Wing-"But he was being stupid, too, because if you look at
the pictures you can see that the fairies look just like fairies in old books and they have wings and dresses and tights and shoes, which is like aliens landing on earth and being like Daleks from Doctor Who
or Imperial Stormtroopers from the Death Star in Star Wars or little green men like in cartoons of aliens." pg, 40
Hunter"People say that Orion is called Orion because Orion was a hunter and the constellation looks like a hunter with a club and bow and arrow , like this" : pg, 56
Story "I said that two dogs were killed in The Hounds of Baskervilles, the hound itself and James Mortimer spaniel , but Siobhan said they weren't the victims of the murder, Sir Charles Baskerville was." pg. 3
Bridge "And then the countryside started and there were fields and cows and horses and a bridge and a farm and more houses and lots of little roads with cars on them." pg. 74
Christopher John Francis Boone is 15 years old and suffers from a form of autism . He is extremely interesting character that I became fascinated in because of the way he thinks. As he was explaining his "processes" I felt like I was learning so much I needed to take notes. As the story progresses he is writing a book of his own and trying to figure out a mystery about a neighborhood dog but it ends up to be two mysteries and his answer changes his life. This was a very good book and it reminded me a lot of the book Colin Fischer which I also loved.

Another hilarious book in this series. I am kicking myself for putting off reading this series and will definitely read more of Tara Sivec's books. They are fun, quick reads and a nice escape. I love Gavin and laughed out loud several times at his antics. I enjoyed Carter and Claire's happy ending and look forward to more of crazy Drew and Jenny in the next book.
