Yes, Ekaterine! I so loved the fact that These Broken Stars is completely standalone. The story is fantastic and the writing is wonderful and best of all it's all resolved by the end of the book. So I'm very very excited to read book 2 for this series from this author because she's probably going to be continuing in the same route with the books in this series, which I'm super excited over!!

Personally, I would say move it to the very end of your TBR list. It has amazing reviews but I really don't know why. It's organized in a way that, 8 chapters in, I feel like the story is over and yet I still have 9 chapters left.

It literally has only 2 or 3 goodreads reviews that give it 2-or-less stars, so I feel really horrible that I dislike it so much.

This is really not that uncommon. I've had this happen to me too, with many books. Maybe it's not for you, you know?? That's how I've chosen to deal with these situations. Because the other readers that have rated high obviously like it. So, to be fair to both the writers and the readers I choose to think that it's simply not a book for me :) Hey, different makes the world go around.

I wish others would follow that path and stop dragging series around. Sometimes it's so good to read standalone and not to worry about cliffhangers and sequels. Oh, the writing and the story are both wonderful. And watching character growth just plain pleasure. I'm loving it. Absolutely brilliant!

Oh, it so good, Belkis! Maise (the MC) is so honest and unlikable I fell in love with her on the first page. I think I rated it 4 stars but totally deserves 5. I just had a bit of a problem with Evan, he creeped me out. I might be in the minority but couldn't really fall for his character. But the story is raw and beautiful and not at all sugar coated.
