Yes, I'm so excited over that Mandy!! I'm going to try and read in soon while they're all so vividly fresh in my mind. Loved all of the characters in this story.

Danielle (Danniegurl) (danniesreads) | 1326 comments Oh my god we have not had power since 8am and finally got it back at 4pm!! I had no wifi so it made it difficult to come in and chat, I could on my phone but it's so small. Anyways, I couldn't check out any books so I had to settle for what I had and it's interesting to say the least. I picked up Mystery Man (Dream Man, #1) by Kristen Ashley

Yeah Rebecca, the first book is not the best but it gets much much better as the books and story progress. I think that for me, I was hooked towards the latter part of book 2. And by the end it had become one of my favorite series.

Don't let this one set the pace of the series for you Rebecca because the other books are much more powerful. There is a lot of intro in this one and it took me a minute to get through it but it's worth it to get to the rest of the series.

The first one is a lot of vocab and world building, book 2 is a bit more fun and interesting book 3 is where it picks up. It really took a while to get the whole world in this book pinned down. I always say the first book in the series is always the worst because usually there is less action and lots of description. And if you hate Mac she totally changes over the course of the series. Barrons also challenges her. Keep with it, stick it out at least until you finish book 3.

Every time I say anything about my thoughts on book 1 everyone jumps at the opportunity to warn me that its mostly world building and Mac gets better. But neither of those things have anything to do with it. Mac is fun, and the world building is there, but in a way that you don't notice it unless you try.

Then what are you having problems with? I think it's because it's usually the complaint we hear about that book.

Me personally, I got bored with it a bit, I felt that there was a lot of explaining going on. I need minimal details and more dialogue but there wasn't a lot just in the first book. For me it was a bit difficult to get through, but I pushed through it. Difficult in the sense the building of the world seemed to take a while for me to get.

LOL! My bigger question Danielle, is why Gwen had Hawk coming to her bed for a year and a half without asking any questions?! Hahahahaha! I think they were dating alright, and definitely acknowledged it, but chose to conveniently avoid the relationship part and settling instead for just the physical aspect of it since they both had tons of personal baggage they didn't want to deal with. That is until they had to of course :)

This was my second of KA's reads, and it was the book that made me realize all of hers seem to be the same. Trashy female supporting cast, no use of pronouns in the dialogue, and overbearing in an annoyingly crass way men. Maybe someday I'll get back to her other books when I have the patience, but I just couldn't take any more once I read Law Man!
