I like Cassandra Clare's books but I do kind of agree with you. I didn't really care that much for Simon's storylines and in the first book I totally skimmed over the part where he became a rat. Book 5 is better. I think book 4 was the weakest. I can't wait to read the last one, I know it's out but I haven't picked it up yet.

Belkis (bminaya) | 8313 comments So I finished Bayou Moon (The Edge, #2) by Ilona Andrews but didn't really love it. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood?? But it dragged a bit for me. I plan on starting Going Under (Going Under, #1) by Georgia Cates and The Runaway King (The Ascendance Trilogy, #2) by Jennifer A. Nielsen soon for our May Birthstone YC.

I think book 4 was the weakest as well. I think it was meant to be a trilogy and then she kept going.

I hope so too Tracy and since I really enjoyed the first book I'll probably also enjoy this one :)

I've had a lot of books like that too Mandy. Where you really enjoyed the first couple ones and then all of a sudden you're going "huh?" and there are so many fantastic reviews and 5 star ratings that you start thinking maybe it's you LOL!

Yea I mean maybe sometime I'll get into it again but I really doubt it. And that's what I mean, Simons story lines or anyone else's really I didn't care for. Drove me nuts.

I was looking into Shallow Bridget to see if book 1 Going Under has a continuation. But it looks like it's about a different set of characters. Did Ii understand that correctly? I'm really enjoying Going Under so far.

Fever is good, but the first book is difficult. It gets better, lots of world building in book 1 and 2.

Danielle (Danniegurl) (danniesreads) | 1326 comments Finished Jet (Marked Men, #2) by Jay Crownover it was ok, but drove me nuts. Jet was all kinds of great but Ayden was crazy, and I just didn't get her thinking. I will eventually read Rome (Marked Men, #3) by Jay Crownover but I know that will be a difficult one since Cora is deep and Rome is also deep with demons. idk if I'll read it now though.
