So far it's interesting Mandy. I'm listening to it as I'm at work and the narration on the audio is very good.

I know the feeling, that is kind of a bummer that everyone can't read at work. Don't misunderstand Belkis cause I am extremely happy that you can but you would think someone would let me. I got into accounting because I don't like people. They get on my nerves, whine, gossip and complain about everything hence the number thing. They say nothing and they are what they are and don't give you any crap about it. I would totally fire one of my girls if they listened to books all day but darn man you would think I could let myself do it. I mean, really, there has to be some kind of perk to be the boss because it's surely not the money.

Donna | 1350 comments Just finished The Singer (Irin Chronicles, #2) by Elizabeth Hunter . I am in love with Elizabeth Hunter. So perfect. I can not wait for the next book! Again, how does she write so well? You know what it loosely reminded me of? A more adult/sophisticated/insanely better Mortal Instruments book. Angels and their descendants, writing, .... I love that we've found such an incredible author and amazing series, but it's also raised the bar and elevated our reading palate to such wonderful heights that now others will pale by comparison. But at least we've been lucky enough to discover this gem.

Have you read Shadow and Bone (The Grisha, #1) by Leigh Bardugo Siege and Storm (The Grisha, #2) by Leigh Bardugo yet Donna? These are really well written too. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for another great read. Oh or Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1) by Sarah J. Maas Crown of Midnight (Throne of Glass, #2) by Sarah J. Maas LOVE this story too. Another well written one with a fantastic storyline, great worldbuilding, and glorious characters. Kickass heroine in both of these series :D

Belkis (bminaya) | 8313 comments Okay so I finished Ruby Red (Precious Stone Trilogy, #1) by Kerstin Gier late last night and really liked it a lot! The heroine is such a wonderful character. She's full of sass and snark and wry humor! And I loved the fact that the time travel theme got yet another fresh take here with a very intriguing story. Feels almost sort of "cloak and dagger" which I totally loved! Will definitely be continuing this trilogy. Now I'm getting ready to start Independent Study (The Testing, #2) by Joelle Charbonneau for our Birthstone YC and I'm very excited to pickup this story after the ending of The Testing (The Testing, #1) by Joelle Charbonneau

message 4342: by Donna (new)

Donna | 1350 comments Finished Of Neptune (The Syrena Legacy, #3) by Anna Banks today. It was a good ending. But I'm still thinking about the Scribe/Singer, so I'm not sure if I want to continue with a PRN or some completely different genre. It's either A Hidden Fire (Elemental Mysteries, #1) by Elizabeth Hunter Pleasure of a Dark Prince (Immortals After Dark, #9) by Kresley Cole Beck (Corps Security, #3) by Harper Sloan or maybe Breathe (Sea Breeze, #1) by Abbi Glines . Decisions decisions

Danielle (Danniegurl) (danniesreads) | 1326 comments So I finished Magic Strikes (Kate Daniels, #3) by Ilona Andrews I'm in it for Curran and Kate and omg he totally wants her and she totally thinks she doesn't. Omg love it. Only down side was in his POV we didn't get the scene of him busting up the joint where the Reapers took her. Ugh. I wanted to know what was going though his head. Now there is a novella I have to read, then move on to the next book. I think that's what I mainly read this for lol. I have yet to write my review for it, so it'll have to wait a bit longer I have to go to the dentist eww.

And all very good options you have lined up there Donna. And yes, The Scribe/Singer, is very hard to compete with. But, but, EH's Elemntal Mysteries is pretty freaking awesome as well. The first book A Hidden Fire will be a bit slower because of course she's introducing everything to us in it, you know?? The world-building, the plot, the characters. But once it gets going honey, you're going to be flying through it and LOVING it. OMG Gio & B are amazing characters and all of the secondary characters are just as layered and well developed. And then of course, you know how I feel about Immortals After Dark by Kresley Cole, it's my favorite PNR series ever. So hard choices darling hahahaha! But I voting for A Hidden Fire. It was my first introduction to EH and it sold me on her amazing writing talent. The series is oh so SO GOOD.

Tayler Housley (taylerhousley) I finished reading Panic by Lauren Oliver a few days ago, and it had took me longer to read then I planned. It had took me a little while to get into the book, but once the book finally got better and more into the story, I couldn't stop.

message 4347: by Eboni (new)

Eboni (nicolenking) | 79 comments I just finished Lee Nichols . It was an okay book. To be honest it felt a bit rushed. I didn't really see the attraction between the main character and her love interest. He was hardly there to make an emotional relationship. I really disliked that the Emma led another love interest on. It was like Bella and Jacob all over again except whereas Bella told Jacob she was still in love with Edward, Emma always claim she felt nothing for Bennett and that he nothing but a guardian. Another thing I didn't like, how little sympathy she had for his death. One minute she's like oh no he's dead wahh! and the next she's like I want to kiss Bennett, OMG he's so hot! Let's forget your friend/other love interest is dead because of you. SMH. Besides that though, the rest was enjoyable.
