I'm so glad!! Yep, you really connect with Vera and feel all the emotions she goes through and it doesn't help that Mateo is so damn adorable.

It sounds really good and I want to read it but I have issues with infidelity books, it ticks me off. According to reviews it was handled well so I may have to give it a shot. Hey, is this an ongoing theme with her books? She did the infidelity thing with her Experiment in Terror series.

Yea Sookie isn't the brightest crayon and she continually tells us about how she doesn't have a temper, but when she does have one she does, and how she tries to stay out of people's heads but she is learning to control it blah blah blah it's like the middle of the book and she will refresh us of her abilities in a way that's kind of in your face annoying and kind of bragging as well. But naturally I will still read this stuff.

Super tough week with a death in my husband's family.

Danielle (Danniegurl) (danniesreads) | 1326 comments So I started the True Blood tv series, and I'm into epi 5, which I'll watch tomorrow, but it is almost like this entire season is the entirety of book 1 of Sookie Stackhouse, I am now wondering if or when the series deviates from the book? Because if the entire season of each is each a book, then I might as well watch the series then lol. For some reason it is much more entertaining than reading the series.

For those who have done both, how closely related to the books are season 2+?

Finished The Rising King (Keepers of Life, #3) by Shea Berkley . I highly recommend this trilogy. If you're a fan of Julie Kagawa's Iron Fey series, you will most likely really enjoy this. Great male MC and a good story! I also finished Firstborn by Lorie Ann Grover and it was eh. I thought it would be better. Very religious undertones, which is not my thing. And not much happens. Very little action to move thing along. I would pass on it unless you're desperate for something to read. I just started Only Everything (True Love, #1) by Kieran Scott . I'm only 8% in and I love it so far. I can tell I'm going to speed through it! And I'm excited I get to go to the launch since the author lives two towns over from me! I will also start Deep Blue (Waterfire Saga, #1) by Jennifer Donnelly since I need to review it by May 6th. I am reading some beta stuff for two authors, as well. And I need to get to Nantucket Red (Nantucket, #2) by Leila Howland ASAP as I'm on the blog tour. Hope it's better than the first one.

The first three seasons follow the books pretty closely, the fourth season already has mind of its own and little in common with the 4th book. 5th season was so bad and totes of the track I stopped watching. I didn't quit watching because it didn't follow the book but they screwed it up completely IMO. I don't know if actors weren't being payed enough or just got bored but they stopped acting, just read the lines like robots. GAAAH, I hate Hollywood. They make awesome TV-shows, 3-4 seasons I'm loving them and then they turn it into the Brazilian soap operas. I really, really enjoyed first three seasons, though, more than books.

Thanks, I have yet to read book 3, so I'm debating if I will or will just watch the series. They talk robotically already IMO but I also think that's how the books sounded as well, so maybe I'll see the difference when I get there but yea I think I may or may not read them who knows lol.

I'm loving Only Everything. It's really fun so far. All different points of view, and who could resist a book with the Gods and Goddesses in it? Keepers of Life is such a great series. I hope you like it. I love YA series from the male POV.

Danielle (Danniegurl) (danniesreads) | 1326 comments I started Magic Bites (Kate Daniels, #1) by Ilona Andrews but so far I'm bored. Maybe I need to wIt to get into it, idk. But I'm still pushing into it. She's only in Greg's office now hiding in the corner reading the file. We shall see. Otherwise idk what I'm in the mood for.

Now I've really gotten into the show a True Blood, I find myself cracking up during it sometimes. It's definitely much better watching than reading.

By season 2 it veers away from the books. I liked the books much better. I think Sookie's character is sort of set up as a "dumb blond" who turns out not to be that dumb after all. As far as paranormal series go I felt like this one was actually very different from others I read because in a way it's sort of humorous. I'm not sure if Charlaine Harris meant the books to come across that way or not.

ItD was so beautifully, tormentingly painful, it just rips your heart out but it's impossible to put down! I'm bummed because it looks like she took a different direction with the sequel and it's hit or miss with reviewers. Not sure I want to ruin this one for myself by reading it!

Haven't had much time to catch up on reading lately, but I've gotten some books read for blog reviews. Finished Bender (The Core Four, #1) by Stacy Borel which was a disappointment, and What You Need (A 1Night Stand Contemporary BDSM Romance) by Landra Graf was a decent speed-read. Finally Mine by Anne Hansen was great though, and so far I'm loving Jake Undone (Gemini, #2) by Penelope Ward !
