What Are You Reading? 2015

Oooo...I love this series. Enjoy!"

Me too! I'd love to get Roar's HEA somehow... and to know about Cinder (I hope I'm remembering his name right).

Great choice Sara :) I need to get back to this series and read the newer books too.

I recommend you all check this book out if you like Incubus/Fallen Angels and a romance that is hot but it literally drives you crazy.
It's Upper YA/New Adult....as you know Incubus are v..."
Thanks Micah, another one to add to my TBR mountain ;)

Yes Micah it the fist third or so of the first book is slow to pull you in, but after that - once Aria & Perry get together it takes off at a run. One of my favorite series.

Love

Hahahaha! Yeah, have to agree with you on that one :D

The HoN books have gone pretty downhill. I mean, there are only a handful of interesting characters and the rest are meh and the plot is all over the place and just too much.

I read the first one, and I really liked it.

Oh wow that's so unlike her. I bought this one too Bridget, of course LOL! It's KA! There were lots of high ratings and good reviews I thought I had seen so was very excited over it. Oh well, I guess with as many awesome books as she has out, a not so great one is due at some point.Have you read her Fantasyland series yet?

Oh Mel I was thinking of grabbing Rebel Belle, it looked really interesting. Please let me know how you like it :) maybe I'll buy it if you like it enough. And do you know if this book 6 is the last one for Shade Of Vampire series? Feels like I've been waiting forever for this series to finish already so I can finish reading it :(

Oh, say it isn't so. I really like VA and I was appalled at how similar Half-Blood was to the VA premise.

Right?!? Laura I keep waiting to see if there's going to be some sort of epilogue or spinoff...... something, anything LOL! As long as I can get Roar's and/or Cinder's story I'll be happy :D

I feel exactly the same way. I resorted to reading a chapter a day to force myself to get through the last one. It's the same story line over and over again. Not to mention the stupidity of some of the charcters (especially the humans). Honestly, how can people still believe Neferet's lies and think she's good this far into the series? How many people does she have to kill before people start to realise "Oh, maybe she's evil"? Another thing that annoys me with this series is how easily the "bad guys" are forgiven and trusted by the good guys. No matter how many people they've killed (incuding friends/family of Zoey's group) or evil things they have done, as soon as they say I've changed my mind I'm on Nyx's side now they're automatically forgiven and become a trusted member of the group.

I liked the first one, but the second...meh. It was just a bit too peculiar for me.

I actually looked at reviews for the first book and a few of my friends said it was just okay, so I was surprised how good this one was. Pretty close to the level of BDB, read them back-to-back and not once did I think to myself that it paled in comparison as far as PNR goes. Wish I'd gotten the first three in before this one, but I'll still go back because I really loved the characters!

I'm actually buddy reading with a friend and we're both pretty impressed so far. If you read Hex Hall, I think you'd like this one. No, book 6 is not the last one there is a book 7 coming out. From the way things stopped last, I don't expect the series to end anytime soon, I have nothing to base this on but I expect the series to go on until about book 10.

If I'm basing it on this book I read, which was #4 in the series, I say absolutely. Looks like reviews for the first book were so-so, but it gets better as the series goes on if you go by ratings. Like I said above to Belkis though, this one was easy to get into after reading Black Dagger Brotherhood, and I wouldn't have felt that way if this was inferior to that series. So a big YES from me! =)

perhaps there would be a novella for roar and cinder. poor roar, he is wonderful.he deserves HEA

This is an excellent series I LOVE it.

Good to know, I just don't think I could get past knowing it's like VA. I think I'd be looking for comparisons and such and I think it'd take away from the book. I may remove them from my list. I don't think I'll eventually read them especially if I can figure out what happens. Part of what I love about some books is that I can't predict what is going to happen, if I can't predict it is usually a good book.

Alright it is time to read a new book. It's 4 am so i think i am going to give

Yes more about Cinder would be awesome! and Roar...sighs...he's my favorite character in that series. I actually wrote a blog post on how NOT to write a love triangle and Aria and Roar were the focus

I didn't think it was that great. They were a bit to toxic for me. I haven't even thought about reading the second book

Don't bother. It's the same story from Maddox's POV and it's not really much different or worth the effort. I even started the marriage story and then never finished. I just can't waste my time.

I have to agree. I really liked BD, but thought WD was unnecessary. Just a retelling of the same story with no new insight.

That's too bad. Although the only KA books I'm familiar with is the Rock Chicks, I love them.

JLA did the same thing with Wait For you. Trust in Me is from Cam's POV, but there's so much more added to the story through his POV. Yes, there are some of the same scenes, but they are expanded or told from a different time perspective. WD was just the same time perspective all around. Annoying.

I have Trust in Me sitting on my bookshelf - just need to get to it. But I feel the same way with Until You (Penelope Douglas) - there's so much more to the story from Jareds POV than in Bully.

Yeah, Belkis, I was really surprised too. I've seen great reviews for it as well, so maybe it was just me. Usually I love anything she writes, so I was pretty disappointed. Anyway, no I haven't read her Fantasyland Series. It looks good, though, so I'll have to add it! And I didn't know she had a vampire series. I'll be adding that too! Thanks!

Hopefully it was just me, Amanda. I know you're a big KA fan like me and I don't want to put you off.

the reason i love under the never sky trilogy is there is scope of triangle but the author proved that she has a wonderful story without ugly drama. she is skilled at writing amazing stories.

Exactly. So she can write the love triangle, but it's not really a love triangle. She showed Aria needed more than Perry. He fulfilled the romance, but she needed the friendship with Roar to keep her grounded. Perfectly done.
