I have been putting it off for so long, based on what everyone said I know I am going to be crying but I think I'm finally in a place where I'm not dreading it and am ready to do it, so I know exactly what you mean!

I really enjoyed both the first and second book.
It's not super heavy on the romance and I felt like there was a lot of sexual tension which drove me crazy in a good way lol

Take that reading challenge!

it was pretty interesting, but in some ways they made it seem like the romance was the main focus at least after the main plot was finished, and they didn't really express the romance too much or often enough for me. Overall though a good book.

Divergent I am loving it. My man laughed at me last night cause I was talking out loud to the book. Really just answering a question that she was asking her self about Four. I might be wrong but was Four born Abnegation?

Great book!
Great book!
Reading two high fantasy right now.

@ Rebecca. Ohhh I read EotW when it first came out AGES ago (yes, it's been awhile). It's sooo good! But truthfully, I didn't finish the series. Only got up to book 4 or 5? Anyway, enjoy!!

The Fault in our Stars was super good but it will definitely make you cry. Usually I'm not a fan of sad books. I'm a total sucker for HEAs but this book was really good.

Okay, so who here has read the
series? I just finished
and wow was this way better than I expected! Love finding unexpectedly great reads, even though the first didn't have rave reviews I'm going to give it a try after loving this one.

Stared and finished
today. Didn't realize this was a duaology. Kind of sad about that but it was a good ending. I think West is my new favorite author!

I'm currently playing a reading game called Pick Up and Put Down, it's a boring game with no end. That's what I've been doing with all the books I've been starting lately!:(Nothing to write home about peeps!
Finished
Really liked the first book second was ok so much going on and so much of Noah flashing his money around. Im still lost about what is going on with these kids. Neeed to read

So people recommended i check out
I'll admit i have been curious to read it but ehh I am unsure. I hear it is similar to Vampire academy(except change out vampires with half bloods or whatever xD) and i literally can't stand VA...Rose makes me sick and i wished bad things on her as I read it xD
Are there good male characters who are there to be more than a love interest? :)
ALSO LADIES(Since i haven't seen many males here posting) recommend me some good YA books(Sci-fi/Dystopian/Parnormal) with some great Male oriented characters aka they are the narrators. So many female narrators but not a lot of Males.

Have you tried
or The Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini
? Not really YA but I also really liked The Sword of Truth Series by Terry Goodkind
. Though they are more fantasy thn sci-fi.
@ RininTa. You should really read Destroy Me before Unravel Me. Then Fracture Me before Ignite Me. Most times I don't feel as though the novellas really need to be read in order but with this series I definitely think they do!

I didn't read VA so I have no idea if it's similar but I absolutely love this series. Yes, there is romance and it's told from a female POV. But she is kick butt. There are tons of great characters that you get to know in depth. It's so much more than the romance. It's really a book about fighting for freedom and overcoming people who want to take control. I was lucky enough to get ARCs of the last three books and I was so excited to read them. There is a spin off series
that is going to be released in February 2015 from one of the main characters that you love to hate. It will be male POV, which is super exciting, as well.

I haven't read VA either but I did hear about the similarities. Alex, the female MC in Halfblood is definitely kickass like Brooke said. There are some really strong guy non-love interests in it too. They get even stronger as the series goes on. Another bonus, they are all out so you don't have to wait for any books to finish the series :)

Have you read Finnikin of the Rock? That's a good one! The first two books in that series are male POV. The writing is really good. Although it is more a fantasy or other world kind of book

I thought initially it was like VA BUT definitely not the same. And by mid book, I was hooked. It's a great series.

How did I forget about Cinder?! Yes - not heavy on the romance, great adventure & multiple POV. Also Legend by Marie Lu I thought was good. I have yet to read the others but they are on my tbr list. Oh & Finnikin was super good!
Keep the recommends coming Ladies :) I love Male oriented POVs but I was not a big fan of Maze runner(I did like Minho<3)I heard Legend featured an "Instalove" with Day and June. But i hear it is good trilogy!
I just finished Splinterednot too long ago. I thoroughly enjoyed it! I'm listening to City of Boneson audio in my car.

One of the reviewers for half blood did a major comparison to VA it sounded like the story recycles and later I hear it TRIES to change. I can't read it because I read VA. However I did like rose, sort of. She was a bit selfish and stung mason and Adrian along....but I haven't read it, but from some of the reviews it sounds like a carbon copy.
So I finished
and omg I was NOT expecting it to be soooooo emotional!!! That threw me for a loop. I literally found myself wondering why the MC wouldn't just off her self with how crappy everything was going on. I mean no I don't think anyone should do that irl however I thought of it as an apt solution to her grief. I rated it 3 stars but I'm not sure if it should be higher or not. I do plan to check it out, she didn't give up and lay down, for the most part but geez tons of emotion.

I haven't read the 2nd book, but I'd have to say you're spot on with your assessment of the 1st book. And I agree with your recommendations. :)
