I haven't been heartbroken by a CoHo book since UL. Confess and N9 just didn't break my heart. More than anything I was annoyed by the character's choices. And they were too predictable for me.

Hopeless is my favorite CoHo book also I havent much liked any of her other books ..They have been good enough but not great. I think IF I had to choose Confess would be my 2nd favorite. Maybe Someday was too contradictive to me. Ugly Love was ok but I didnt like that is was all one sided till the very end. Slammed series were ok but I think I got to them when I was finding NA books annoying. November 9 was good too but again another predictable story with a slight twist. Dont know about Never Never havent read them because I wont pay that much for a novella/novella series.

I really hope they mke some fixes before release. Im interested in this book very much so!! I was disappointed with the last In The Afterlight (The Darkest Minds, #3) by Alexandra Bracken I liked the first half or so then felt like it was just a quick rush to finish the book. A simple solution to what was such a HUGE situation/loss

What mystery/thrillers did you judt finish Laura? I love that genre of book. I always like a little mystery with my romance because they tend to not focus on the romance as much. I have to be in the mood for romance and that isnt often.

I hope you like Slave to Sensation. I tried to readthis series and i wanted to live it so much but i barely made it through the first book.

Definitely. I mean it wasn't fair on this book really, after 'Land Of The Beautiful Dead'.
It wasn't bad by any means. It kept me captivated but lacked something. Can't even pinpoint what. Maybe I just didn't connect as well with the characters. Don't know. Hmmm...

Victoria | 259 comments it has been a while since I posted on here- life and stuff. I have enjoyed scrolling through and catching up and getting some new ideas for my TBR list. I just finished Charm & Strange by Stephanie Kuehn which was a whole lot of strange and not much charm, but I hung in there and it turned out to be better than I thought, very interesting and different. Now I am trying Seraphina (Seraphina, #1) by Rachel Hartman because it has been on my list for way too long and I finally decided to go for it... I hope it is worth it :)

Scout is kind of like amazon's answer to all the digital imprints the big publishing companies have recently set up - instead of a publishing team choosing what gets published the books are picked by a selection of readers and the deals are similar to the big digital imprints with a small advance and 50% royalty rate + marketing

Its a good option, however, unlike the digital imprints for say Harper or Random House there's no option for Kindle Press to pick up the print rights as well if the ebook does well. The author retains all rights except ebook and audio so could always be approached by a trad publisher to print the actual book, but not being able to give them ebook and audio could cut off some options.

Sorry I went off rambling there! Good luck with your book, Brooke - congrats on finishing it! And congrats on the Kindle Press deal Teresa!

message 23700: by Teresa (new)

Teresa | 606 comments The Kindle Press team is who ultimately decides whether a book gets selected. Nominations by readers are only one factor in the selection process. As a first time author it was a good option for me. I don't think I would have sold nearly as many copies if I self published and I've made a lot of author friends along the way. It's been a great experience for me. Brooke, if you want to find out more the website is www.kindlescout.com
