Red Queen just bugged me. I felt like it was all these books I've read thrown into one idea. And there's a love QUADRANGLE! yes, you read that right. I just wanted to throw it. I did end up finishing it (and the ending was very Catching Fire).

I struggled right until about 4 chapters from the end. It picks up, lots of action, but I still had so many issue with it.

Yeah I was the same, it started out reeaalllyyy slow but once she got to court it picked up a little, still wasn't really 'unputdownable' til the end though.. I thought it was okay, probably 3 stars - I picked the twist straight away so for the whole book I couldn't stop thinking how naive and narrow-minded the MC was. I didn't really have too much of an issue with the romance as I figured out pretty early (view spoiler) and it seemed pretty clear who the main love interest is even if the MC refused to believe it. I'm hoping (view spoiler)

Anyway I enjoyed it for the most part - I did think there were some aspects which were familiar from other books but the author put her own spin on it and I didn't really mind so much. I'm not really in any huge hurry to read the second one but I'll get to it at some stage

Finished Need by Joelle Charbonneau and meh. I gave it 2 stars. Started in on The Game Plan (Game On, #3) by Kristen Callihan and so far it's really unputdownable. But I need to go to bed! GAH!

So glad I'm not the only one!! Cause I've been reading reviews about the book and they all seem to love it, so I started feeling bad that I couldn't find it that exciting. @Ash, I think I figured the love interest right away too. I mean, it is pretty obvious if you think about it...

Donna | 1350 comments Alright. I just finished The 5th Wave (The 5th Wave, #1) by Rick Yancey and yes, it was awesome! Really a great read. Suspenseful, creepy - in that you never know who is an alien - and written with a perfect sense of character: Cassie, Ben, Evan. I'm definitely getting to the next one - because you know who HAS TO COME BACK!

Finished The Game Plan (Game On, #3) by Kristen Callihan and I now totally understand the cover. I actually figured somewhere in the book what happened would happen. I just didn't know when. I started For the Record by Charlotte Huang and it's meh so far. We shall see. I am also going to read Pucked Up (Pucked, #2) by Helena Hunting . I can't believe it's been out for a week and I haven't read it yet!

About 10% into Pucked Up (Pucked, #2) by Helena Hunting and I'm not loving Buck's narration, but perhaps it will change. There was one part in the first chapter that had me laughing so hard I couldn't breathe, though ;)

I pushed to the end. Everyone had such great things to say. And that cover is awesome. Sadly, it just wasn't that good. And the romance? BLECH! Could she rip off THG more? And then it was out of control with the love quadrangle.
