oooh, LOVE the LotU. Sexy and a good "lighter than BDB" storyline. I need to get back to it. :)

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 1075 comments I finished reading Breaking Sky by Cori McCarthy 4 stars. I loved this story! Sucked me right in! Really amazing world building. Everything felt very authentic. My only gripe was the teen angst got to be a bit much. It wasn't even romance teen angst, but BFF Teen Angst! But overall, a fun read!

Now reading City of Savages by Lee Kelly and I'm really liking this one as well.

reading Tool (A Step Brother Romance, #2) by Sabrina Paige and loving it. I read half of it in one sitting. I loved Prick so I am not surprised I am loving this one.

Donna | 1350 comments Finished The Improbable Theory of Ana and Zak by Brian Katcher last night and loved it! What a great, sweet story of improbable first love. Really great. Then I started Strength (Mark of Nexus, #1) by Carrie Butler aaaaannnd.... it's okay so far. Pretty slow and not the greatest writing, but I'll hang in there a little longer. I'm at about 30% right now and I'm hoping it'll pick up.

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 1075 comments I finished The Coincidence of Callie & Kayden (The Coincidence, #1) by Jessica Sorensen 4 stars. This was a pretty typical NA story...both guy and girl damaged, find each other, try to make it work. I did think this one was more realistic in its viewpoint, though, and I really really liked the characters! I really liked it, except for that HUGE CLIFFHANGER!

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 1075 comments I finished City of Savages by Lee Kelly 4.5 stars. I loved this read! Very dark PA/Dystopian story about 2 sisters trying to make it in post-war destroyed Manhatten with their mother. There's danger and death everywhere, and finding questions to answers results in more questions than answers. The action was incredible, I loved the plot, and the world building was very well done. If you like PA/Dystopian, this is a must read!

message 22770: by Laura (new)

Laura (llbasaldua) | 790 comments Well because I like to punish myself I did a relisten of Six of Crows (Six of Crows, #1) by Leigh Bardugo and actually liked it (third times a charm) But I still say it really does not need 7 Narrators nor did it need so many POVs A few are really pointless to the story. But overall I'd give it 4 stars. (Anyone that listened to the Audio notice there is a repeated sentence a few times? I thought it was just me from rewinding it but this time around I noticed it but forgot to mark it.)

I finished Snow Like Ashes (Snow Like Ashes, #1) by Sara Raasch Im really not sure about this one. I feel like Been there done that kinda story.... But I want to try Ice Like Fire (Snow Like Ashes, #2) by Sara Raasch before I decide on it. ATM I dont have the best feeling towards this book. Not sure why or if its the feeling I have of "I know this story" Hrmm

Now Im listening to Alpha (Alpha, #1) by Jasinda Wilder and I know its got some great reviews. I believe was #1 Erotica of last year. But Im just not getting it. Its the same ol story with a slight twist but seriously for those that have read it Who would go along with this seriously?? Surely not me... And Im talking about the $$ and the "retrieving" I laughed so hard at this point then I had to ask everyone I know IRL If this happened to you would you go with it? LOL Yeah yeah Im weird like that. BUT If it dont get better soon Im about to DNF and start something else.

Oh I love PoA it's my favourite of the HP series!!! I first read it when I was 13 and I'm pretty sure it was the first novel I've ever stayed up all night reading!!

Was not a fan of the movie though - as much as I love Gary Oldman I thought he was just so completely wrong for Sirius and Michael Gambon (who, again, I have loved in other things) was such a let down after Richard Harris's amazing performance in the first two. Also, even though I don't usually have too much of an issue with slight plot alterations to suit a film format, so much of what was changed was just stupid and wrong and just didn't make sense!

They did get back on track after that though, the other movies were reasonable but nowhere near as good as the books! :)

Finished Ms. Manwhore (Manwhore, #2.5) by Katy Evans which was pretty good but not really enough substance...this series could have easily ended at 2 books but oh well. Next was Slow Play (The Rules, #3) by Monica Murphy , which I loved, Monica never lets me down!!

Yeah I really wish there had been more than three Gamble Brothers books! They were such fun, easy reads :) I'd love to see JLA take on a big PNR series along the lines of IAD or LotU...she's sort of heading in that direction with Titan and Wicked I think, but I'd really love to see something in a big huge world with loads of interconnected characters - she'd be really good with that I think

Zouagie | 7 comments Just got done reading The Body at the Tower (The Agency, #2) by Y.S. Lee . Really great second book. Should check that out if you're into mystery and light romance. Nice plot and keeps the story interesting to hold your attention.

Am now currently reading The Stars Never Rise (The Stars Never Rise #1) by Rachel Vincent I am about 70% done with it but throughout it all, I feel like it could have been held better. I wasn't able to keep my attention on it like i previously would have been able to. I like how the author makes her seem like a sensible teenager but c'mon, enough with the "beautiful green eyes."
