MadameZelda Poison Princess (The Arcana Chronicles, #1) by Kresley Cole , Okay 131 pages read (37 percent) and it's still boring! I even dread going to my Kindle to continue reading it. I'll have to put it aside. It's also too depressing.

There goes my challenge for a book with the word "poison" in it, but I'll live.

I actually stopped it in the first chapter I think Brooke. As soon as the female MC, Olivia?? I think her name is?? disclosed what she just found out about herself. The first scene in the florist shop. My emotional state with my brother being sick right now, didn't put me in a good place to enjoy this story so I set it aside until another time.

I can see why.
The story line is not my issue, though. I just can't connect with the characters. I put it down and I'm reading Return Once More (The Historians, #1) by Trisha Leigh for a blog tour and then I'll go back to it. It's making me sad not to like it because I loved Alex so much. And two people have definitely told me to stick with it (my one friend said she dropped her spoon in the middle of a scene about 75% in the other day so I figure it's got good in it somewhere, yes?).
HUGS to you.

Pucked is FANTASTIC! So much humor. I laughed a lot. And sexy parts, too. A great combination. The next book comes out November 5th! I cannot wait! Oh and Sweet Evil...huh. I pushed myself to finish it and ended up liking it. But I didn't like the second third book so much. I haven't read Kai's POV yet, but I have it.

I finished reading this in about 3 days (breaks in between). It wasn't a bad read, but things were a bit confusing a lot of the time and it all seemed to conclude pretty quickly. I think it would appeal more to younger readers

Yes how it left off you know there's more to come - probably more world building and hopefully answers to all the questions that have been raised in this first book. It doesn't end on a cliffhanger so I think that it can also be read as a stand-alone if you don't mind having some questions left unanswered.

I have a question - are the Cold Fury books and Pucked more on a level with something like Tempting the Best Man (Gamble Brothers, #1) by J. Lynn or more like Fifty Shades of Grey (Fifty Shades, #1) by E.L. James ?? I am not a huge fan of contemporary stuff (fantasy is my go to) and I'm really not into full on erotica, but I really loved the light-hearted romance in The Gamble Brothers books so if either of the above series are on a similar wavelength I'm thinking I will like them also (also I'm a big hockey fan, not sure how much that has to do with things lol)

If it helps, other romance series I love are IAD and LotU. I also enjoyed BDB but found it a bit too intense at times

I'd have to agree, although it's not really like that either. But closer to that than 50. Alex and Zack were good. Can't wait to get to Ryker. But Pucked is in a class of it's own. Super funny - an off type of humor. I think you'll really enjoy it.

Finished this one! It's absolutely wonderful! I haven't read any of Rachel Vincent's other books but I'll definitely be moving them up my tbr! I listened to the audio which was done by the same narrator who does the Study books and its a really good performance.

One thing that didn't bother me but might bother others is the POV - it jumped around between first person chapters by the MC and third person from others, and even though the chapters had character names as headings, the narration actually seemed more omni when in third than close third. Personally I thought it all pulled together well, but it's something that might bother others.

Now I'm onto Cast in Shadow (Chronicles of Elantra, #1) by Michelle Sagara which has been on my tbr for at least two years...time to get through some of those books!
