message 22506: by Bridget (new)

Bridget | 1517 comments I feel like I havent been on here in forever! But I have gotten some reading done. I finished Until Friday Night (The Field Party, #1) by Abbi Glines and didn't love it. I love all Abbi Gline's stuff, but this wasn't my favorite at all. The male lead, West, just bugged me. Oh well, I'm sure I'll love her next one.

I also did a re-read of Ruby Red (Precious Stone Trilogy, #1) by Kerstin Gier because it had been over a year since I read it and I finally got around to reading the second one Sapphire Blue (Precious Stone Trilogy, #2) by Kerstin Gier . Such a great series. But, Gideon was really making me mad in the second one. I hope he resolves his problem before I start the third Emerald Green (The Ruby Red Trilogy, #3) by Kerstin Gier tonight.

I just put my review up for that Glines book. I gave it a 2. I felt like it was made into a YA book. Like she just wrote what she normally would write for NA and then just took out all the sex and such. It was my second book by her. I tried to read The Vincent Boys, but I DNF'd. I guess she's just not for me.

I have to finished this series too! Gah! I have so many I need to finish up! I start on EG but had to put it aside. It was a little too teen angsty for me at the time. I'll get into the mood shortly, I'm sure. Hope it's good Bridget.

Donna | 1350 comments Recently finished How to Seduce a Vampire (Without Really Trying) (Love at Stake, #15) by Kerrelyn Sparks and thought it was pretty good. It's book 15 of this series, and it was fine as a stand alone. Now I'm almost done with Under His Skin (Alien Encounters, #1) by Stacey O'Neale , which is fairly good so far.

It was very good Teresa. For me I loved Me Before You more, but in this case I think it's a really hard story to upstage due to the emotional storyline. But that being said, After You had the same writing tone and the characters some continued from the first book and some new ones to this story, were well layered. I enjoyed it a lot. There wasn't any part that bored me and I zipped right through the audio with excitement and interest. I think the author did an outstanding job following up the first book given the ending. It felt realistic and gave me all the feels. A worthy 4 star read for me :)

You need to read it. Its a great ending to the series. Though I still feel it would have been good to have an epilogue set a few years down the track so we know what happened to the characters.

Nicole I've started Cruel Beauty (Cruel Beauty Universe #1) by Rosamund Hodge . She's just met Ignifex and Shade. All of the unexpressed anger towards her family was beginning to frustrate me. I just wanted to yell at her to tell her family how she really feels about them and the situation.

Oh Sara I started reading FS too and it's very good but I just haven't had much actual "sit down to read" reading time lately, if that makes any sense :P and so wan to get to EWR but again, sigh, not much reading time. @Brooke, I agree. It might have been better if it was more NA. The Vincent Boys was my first and favorite AG book. But I did read it several years ago. If I had read it today, I don't know that I would feel that way about it. Her NA series are some of my favs too. This may be the only book by her that I didn't love. Did you find West to be lacking? And the whole not talking thing just got on my nerves.

Hrmm I didnt even know about this book till Colleen Hoover posted something about it on Facebook.

I read some of the reviews and seeing how its pretty much the same book reimagining nah not gonna happen.I read some reviews that show its word for word Twilight but from different characters ? I just dont get why she would do this? Supposedly to "prove" Bella wasnt a whinny whimpy girl.I dunno I dont want to rune what started me reading again so not going to bother with this one and yeah that 12.99 is flippin crazy for an Ebook!

Uh does that book description say 'the "classic" novel Twilight'???? I am sure Jane Austen, Tolstoy and the Brontes would agree with that assessment...

And boy does Meyer know how to beat a dead horse...a reimagining of a book that has been in constant circulation for ten straight years??

I read somewhere that S. Meyers decided to switch up the genders because a lot of people didn't like Bella's damsel in distress character. I liked Twilight and Bella's character. I thought her clutzy awkwardness made her endearing.

I am not gonna read it, but if I did the fact that it is Twilight word for word wouldn't matter since I haven't read it. It would still be new to me. I just think the idea of a boy obsessed with a girl instead of a girl obsessed with a boy is something we don't see often.
