Several of my friends have said the same. I want to like a story like this, the movie looks good...I just feel like Margo would come across as a self-absorbed bitch for me. Sorry it hasn't grabbed you yet, hope you end up liking it!

Suma Hegde I'm currently reading 13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson :)

Bridget | 1517 comments Almost through with Blood and Sand (Elemental World, #2) by Elizabeth Hunter . I'm really liking it, but not as much as the rest of EH's books. I love Baojia, but something about Natalie just rubs me the wrong way.

Also almost done with the audio of The Runaway King (The Ascendance Trilogy, #2) by Jennifer A. Nielsen . Loving it, but I'm about ready to strangle Imogen. She's causing so many more problems than there should be at this point.

Paula (littledarling2012) | 621 comments Ugh....I've been MIA after reading a book that caused me the worst hangover ever. The Bars That Hold Us by Shelly Pratt . It totally broke me. Amazing book.

Now I need something lighter... The Casual Rule (The Casual Rule, #1) by A.C. Netzel

I love Baojia so much, Natalie could be the most annoying person ever and I wouldn't care. Lol.

Sorry I can't say it got any better. I kind of had to force myself to finish it. Margo was very self-absorbed.

Paula (littledarling2012) | 621 comments I'm still reading The Casual Rule (The Casual Rule, #1) by A.C. Netzel and objectively it is a great and funny book. But I'm in such a book funk after The Bars That Hold Us by Shelly Pratt that I can't really concentrate on the story.
What do you do in a book funk?

Stephanie (the nerdy princess) (sareiner) | 64 comments Just finished This Is Where It Ends by Marieke Nijkamp a school shooting at a high school. VERY GOOD!!!

message 21813: by Teresa (new)

Teresa | 606 comments I'm reading Dreamfever (Fever, #4) by Karen Marie Moning . Don't get me wrong, I like this series, but it's really frustrating how little the author reveals. I get the need for some amount of suspense, but I'm starting to get frustrated. 4 books in and there's still so much readers don't get filled in on.

On vacation, ladies and gents, so not sure how much you will see of me, though I do expect to read a lot (as I always do on vacation). I did manage to finish my beta read, Your B&B or Mine? by Melissa West , and Blackmail Boyfriend by Chris Cannon on the ride. The first I really liked. The second, not so much.

I have the first in this series, Darkfever (Fever, #1) by Karen Marie Moning on its way to me in the mail, and am really looking forward to it having heard so many good reviews.
I hear what you're saying about the author not revealing much, but do you still think the series is worth it?

message 21817: by Mel (new)

message 21818: by Sara (new)

Sara | 1037 comments Not a lot of reading time. I've been busy writing a book and started it's sequel, but I am SO excited for Queen of Shadows (Throne of Glass, #4) by Sarah J. Maas in another week! I am still reading Daughter of Smoke & Bone (Daughter of Smoke & Bone, #1) by Laini Taylor but I'm making slow progress.

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 1075 comments 4.5 stars Rook by Sharon Cameron

LOVED this story! A very unique concept. It felt like a story from a few hundred years ago, but it was actually thousands of years in the future. The world building was incredible, as well as the plot and all the twists. And I LOVED the characters. This is one for history buffs, dystopian lovers, fantasy junkies...the works!

message 21820: by Kitlina (new)

Kitlina | 195 comments just finished The Wrath and the Dawn (The Wrath and the Dawn, #1) by Renee Ahdieh and it left me breathless. I'm a sucker for fairy tale retelling and this is one of the best I've ever read, if not the best, of Arabian Nights. If you're into these stories, this is truly a must read.

Yeah Mel. I think I quit that series after book 4 maybe. Loved how it started, but it just dragged on so much I couldn't deal with it anymore.

message 21823: by MadameZelda (new)

MadameZelda I finished World After (Penryn & the End of Days, #2) by Susan Ee which was grisly and eye opening. Totally unexpected for me (through the eyes of a 17-year-old girl and the horrors of war). I am now concluding with End of Days (Penryn and the End of Days, #3) by Susan Ee .

The series is worth it, I do think you'll enjoy it, but just know that there is a lot you won't find out until well into the series so you may want to order the rest of the books if you're anything like me and can't stand being in suspense :)

message 21827: by Martha (new)

Martha | 10 comments Finished Cinders & Sapphires (At Somerton, #1) by Leila Rasheed and loved the first 2/3 but felt it got very cliched and and heavy-handed (something it had impressively avoided to that point) in the last 1/3. Anyone read the rest of this series? I'd love to know if I should go on or not.

message 21828: by Ashlee (new)

Ashlee | 309 comments Big day of releases! Excited for Lair of Dreams (The Diviners, #2) by Libba Bray Cage of Deceit (Reign of Secrets, #1) by Jennifer Anne Davis and Legacy of Kings (Blood of Gods and Royals, #1) by Eleanor Herman (which only came out today in Aus)

Currently halfway through City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments, #4) by Cassandra Clare ....I've picked up and put this book down so many times, but I'm determined to get through the last three TMI books before The Dark Artifices starts next year...I'm going to give that series the benefits of the doubt - hopefully without Clary and Jace it might actually be decent

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 1075 comments I finished Mosquitoland by David Arnold and I really enjoyed this one...except the ending kind of ALMOST had this amazing twist, but the author yanked it away at the last minute..it would have been MIND BLOWING...but it was still a good book, and I enjoyed it.

Now rereading Demon Evolution (The Evolution Trilogy, #2) by David Estes and almost done! Loving it!
