It's TOTALLY different than that series. writing and everything is different. It's historical fiction. Honestly, I was meh about the first book. But I like this one better, perhaps because I know the characters. I'm 1/2 way through.

It's been a few months since I read the last book, but I was trying to figure out what I wanted to read next and decided I was in the mood for something paranormal with a bit of steam. Hopefully this will fit the bill.

Do you want an original concept, or for it to take place in her current one?

Belkis (bminaya) | 8313 comments @ Nicole

I really need to get to The Girl in the Steel Corset (Steampunk Chronicles, #1) by Kady Cross sooner then! I do enjoy steampunk. Have you read Lady of Devices (Magnificent Devices, #1) by Shelley Adina Soulless (Parasol Protectorate, #1) by Gail Carriger Leviathan (Leviathan, #1) by Scott Westerfeld ? I read the Parasol Protectorate series and enjoyed it a lot. I haven't read the Leviathan trilogy although I've had it in my tbr for ages (really need to get to it as I've heard it's really good) or the Magnificent Devises series yet but thought to mention in case you wanted to check these out since you enjoyed Steampunk :)

I had this problem too. I tried again several times, and skimmed, and it was just no bueno. In the end, I went with option 4 :-/. Even with several attempts, I couldn't get through enough to feel like any review would have been fair.
