It's TOTALLY different than that series. writing and everything is different. It's historical fiction. Honestly, I was meh about the first book. But I like this one better, perhaps because I know the characters. I'm 1/2 way through.

It's been a few months since I read the last book, but I was trying to figure out what I wanted to read next and decided I was in the mood for something paranormal with a bit of steam. Hopefully this will fit the bill.

I really need to get to sooner then! I do enjoy steampunk. Have you read ? I read the Parasol Protectorate series and enjoyed it a lot. I haven't read the Leviathan trilogy although I've had it in my tbr for ages (really need to get to it as I've heard it's really good) or the Magnificent Devises series yet but thought to mention in case you wanted to check these out since you enjoyed Steampunk :)

No, I liked it. I didn't love it. I liked it better than the first one, but it's not a suck me in kind of story for me. 3 is good, it's not bad. It's medium!

Funny your thoughts on Emancipated are how I felt about A Court of Thorns and Roses! LOL! I did finish it but it took me over a month and it was SOOOOO boring for me. I was sad.

You have a couple of options. 1 try again. 2. Skim through it to see if it gets better. 3. Tell her it just wasn't for you or 4. Pretend you didn't hear her.

I had this problem too. I tried again several times, and skimmed, and it was just no bueno. In the end, I went with option 4 :-/. Even with several attempts, I couldn't get through enough to feel like any review would have been fair.
