Reading Pitching to Win (Over the Fence, Book 1) by Carrie Aarons . The story has so much potential but the tense is all over the place and it's affecting my ability to get into the story more. It's making me sad.

67% into Pitching to Win (Over the Fence, Book 1) by Carrie Aarons and I think I just need it to be over. Like, I want to know what's going to be the conflict but I just am having such a hard time with the descriptions and the tense. GAH!

That's a shame, usually KA's books are pretty good and I've read great comments about her Fantasyland series in general but I've also read that some of the books in the series are great and others are less appealing so maybe this was one of the not so great ones in the series. This is actually one of of her series that I'm very much looking forward to. I just wish she'd release it on audio already, ugh, LOL! Yeah because KA's books are wicked long for the most part so I've lucked out so far by grabbing them on audio just in time so I've been holding out on this and checking. I also really really want her PNR/Vampire trilogy to come out on audio too so I can jump all over it as well hahaha! I hope your next KA book is back on track.

I know what you mean. Her books are always awesome, but sometimes I feel like they drag. There were moments in this where I felt that way, but of course she's built up the characters and I love them so I can't NOT read them! LOL. Of course, it could just be in the mood I'm in, too. I'm hoping the next book gains my attention.

Teresa | 606 comments Just finished The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin and it was so good. I really liked it. Funny thing was when I got to the part where AJ and Amelia were talking about the Lion the Witch and the wardrobe and the Turkish Delight I was like - that was so me when I read that book as a kid. I was so curious about Turkish Delight and so sure it was amazing but then when I tried it I didn't like it at all. I wonder how many other people had that same moment?

I have had zero reading time lately, but I was feeling exactly the same up until about 2 weeks ago. The contemp romances were all blending together for me. =\

The author signing event was so funny. That's what I loved about this book - it was a mix of funny, sad, happy, just everything. It's a great book for everyone but I think a really special book for book lovers

Sorry I've been MIA, between family visiting, trying to figure out a career path, getting back on the dating wagon, and race training, my spare hours are very few these days. I haven't had much time to read lately, but I did finish Priest by Sierra Simone which was really sexy but a bit over the top for my tastes. I loved it, but the idea of him being a priest with the fantasies he was having was hard to believe.

Finished Compulsive (Liar, #1) by Lia Fairchild today, it surprised me and ended up being very good, a little different than the typical contemp romance so it was a nice change!

Next up is Hide Me (Silver Strands, #1) by Lexi Scott , which I'm reading for review and don't have a lot of high hopes for but we'll see!

DNF'd Forever. I just could not do it. I got 1/2 way. The writing was terrible. The characters were flat. I just could not connect to it. I am still trying to get through Pitching to Win though I'm close to another DNF.
