Pixelated by L.S. Murphy I am frustrated with this. I'm 30% and NOTHING has happened, except the MC pining for a guy she does not know at all. It's so annoying. Not sure how much longer I'll give it. Disappointed because I like this author.

43% into Pixelated by L.S. Murphy and it just doesn't seem to be holding my interest. I should know the plot, I don't. I should see something happening between these two characters (besides all this heat she feels when they touch), I really don't. I just read a chapter where I thought there would be a breakthrough, there wasn't. I give it to 50% and then I will probably be done. I hate to DNF, b/c I feel like I've done it so much this year. I don't know why I'm so picky lately!

Ugh! I'm sorry, that sucks Brooke :( it's probably not you because if nothing noteworthy has happened in a story by 50% of the book, then I'm sorry but no. Just no. unfortunately I hate when we get stuck with a dull book. We feel so cheated!

I just got Radiance (Wraith Kings, #1) by Grace Draven too! On audio :)

At the moment I paused Rock Chick (Rock Chick, #1) by Kristen Ashley because I'm not really liking the main character. :/ But I'm not about half way through The Consequence of Revenge (Consequence, #2) by Rachel Van Dyken and it's fun :D

GAH! I hope so. I will read another chapter or two, but it doesn't seem promising if my friend said she pushed herself. If I don't DNF, then my rating will be low, probably not more than 2.5.

Tiana411 | 701 comments I am trying to finish off some series off my shelf. Trying to read P.S. I Still Love You (To All the Boys I've Loved Before, #2) by Jenny Han but I can't. I realize it's a YA but it's so juvenile and full of BS angst. I can't believe it's the same author who wrote The Summer I Turned Pretty, I guess I can because of the love triangles but still.....I think I'm gonna have to shelve it despite the 4-5 star ratings. It must be written for 12 year olds.

Yes, I can already tell I love it. I'm 30% in and there's lots of action. I'm so curious to see what's going on. At least I already have an idea of the plot, I still didn't know the plot from the other book and I was 60% in.

Don't you hate that??!! When YA stories get laden with some much drama-filled teenage over the top BS angst! Ugh! I mean come on! And I had my suspicions that that was the case with this particular book when I read the book blurb, but still. And it has such high ratings! Thanks for confirming that my gut instincts on this one were right on queue Tiana.

message 20883: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Elise | 188 comments @belkis, yeah I liked the first half, but then it felt to me like he was trying too hard to cram as many issues as possible into one book. sexuality, self identity, obesity, mental health, I felt it would have better if he trimmed down on the issues addressed a little bit, it wouldn't have felt as forced. the concept was cool though and overall I still liked it. not really looking forward to the new one though cuz it sounds like its another same story, different perspective book

Yeah Kelly I can see that, there was a lot going on in the story but I guess because of the premise of the main character I didn't mind it as much. I'm hoping that book 2 brings newness to the story. I'll wait to see what readers say as far as reviews and rating before deciding whether or not to dive into it or not.

See, this is why I won't read it. I was bored with the second book and pushed myself to finish. I never read the last book. I don't think I'd be happy with this since I've heard it's really just a rehashing of the first book, without anything new. And some of the quotes I've seen from it are sketchy at best. So I will pass. But there are people who really liked it.
