It's honestly not great writing, but it's one of those series I just loved anyway. This one, though, just didn't cut it.

Nitzan Schwarz (nitzanafterwords) I just finished Blue Lily, Lily Blue (The Raven Cycle, #3) by Maggie Stiefvater which was absolutely epic and I NEED the next book so bad it's not even funny, and started The Boyfriend App (App, #1) by Katie Sise which is really... underwhelming so far.

message 20809: by Donna (new)

Donna | 1350 comments I finished Fated (Dark Protectors, #1) by Rebecca Zanetti just now & it was a little slow paced up until the last ~15%. Then it took off & I was hooked. I kinda hate that just 'cause I expect the next book to be the same. Ugh. But I'm gonna get to the next one eventually.

Nicole D. (thereadingrebel) | 969 comments finished Duplicate Death (Inspector Hemingway Mystery #3) by Georgette Heyer Sanditon Jane Austen's Last Novel Completed by Jane Austen and Royal Escape by Georgette Heyer all 4 stars. All for the TBR list Challenge. All had been on my list forever.

restarted The Girl in the Clockwork Collar (Steampunk Chronicles, #2) by Kady Cross and over half way throw and hope to finish today. Love these characters and this world.

Belkis (bminaya) | 8313 comments Okay I finally finished Redeeming Vows (MacCoinnich Time Travel Trilogy, #3) by Catherine Bybee and it was "meh" I think I seriously need a complete shakedown read LOL! I need to wipe my reading pallet with something raw, jarring, intense! So I'm going to jump into King by T.M. Frazier since I actually have the luxury of a quiet evening that I can sit down and read a book yay! I hope it's as good as the ratings and reviews say it is. And book 2 which is being highly anticipated releases in August so in case book 1 ends in a cliffie the wait for book 2 won't be too long. Also contemplated starting Asking for It (Asking for It, #1) by Lilah Pace but again, the second book doesn't release until September so the wait for book 2 for this one is further out so I decided to read this one closer to the release of book 2. But wow, both of these look like what I need to read right now.

LOL! I think a lot of 1 books in a series tend to do that to us Donna. Hopefully book will have better pacing. I have this series in my tbr too and plan to give it a try sometime in the future so I'm hoping it does turn out to be a good one.

I finished Anya and the Shy Guy by Suze Winegardner which was adorable and definitely my second favorite book of this series. And I also finished No Kissing Allowed by Melissa West . I liked it but I was a bit annoyed at the way the MC acted about her relationship. If you read it you'll more than likely understand. I don't want to spoil things. I am reading '89 Walls by Katie Pierson which I like despite how political it is (I think it's interesting because this was the year I graduated and the kids are exactly the age I was, so I can really related to this book).
I want to start something else but I'm not sure what.

I really didn't like Girl in the Steel Corset :-( I mean I wasn't begging for my life back after reading it, but I felt it had some inconsistencies (like saying "but this NEVER happens to Finley, when it in fact, happens all the time throughout the book) that annoyed me. Maybe the later books are better?

Belkis (bminaya) | 8313 comments Okay finished Forever Black (Forever, #1) by Sandi Lynn and it was alright, but not great. Now listening to Beauty and the Billionaire (Billionaire Boys Club, #2) by Jessica Clare because the MCs for this book were introduced in the first book and I was intrigued by them and the promise of a sort of beauty and the beast type storyline :) I'm hoping it's a good one!

Started Pixelated by L.S. Murphy and so far I'm still waiting for something to happen at 16%. I'm not sure what the crux of the story is. I'll see where I'm at at 25%. I really loved this author's other book Reaper by L.S. Murphy so I'll be sad if I don't like this one. I think I'll also pick up either Etherworld (Elusion, #2) by Claudia Gabel or The Replaced (The Taking, #2) by Kimberly Derting . Not sure which but I need an otherworldly read at this point.

Hasn't pulled me in yet, but I've read another book by this author and she seems to build her stories slowly, which I'm okay with. I think it will pick up as I keep reading. I had A Court of Thorns and Roses (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #1) by Sarah J.
