I'm currently participating in a buddy read with another group so I'm currently reading Green Rider.Tomorrow I begin Blood Song and Mind Games.
I'm pretty sure I'll throw in some Abbi Glines for my reading pleasure!

Finished

Just finished listening to

, which was so so for me, but the ending made me have high hopes for book 2? thoughts on the rest of this series anyone?Started reading

I wasn't an Uglies fan. I read the first three books. Didn't bother with the 4th as it was really a spin off and I was just not enough of a fan.

I didn't like The Fill-in Boyfriend. I loved the two other books in the series, though. I think I gave this one a 2 :(

I really didn't like the main character and I also didn't love the story. but that's just me. I know a ton of people who really liked it. I just think there is better dystopian out there.

Just Finished The Atlanteens The Atlanteens: Book One: Veritas. Really liked it and can't wait for book 2.
FINALLY finished
. Now I'm going back to listening to
and hoping it gets better. The reader is making the poor Hispanic LI sound a bit light in the heels and so the romance parts are falling kinda flat. :/

I couldn't get through Uglies Kelly. Maybe I'll try again later but needless to say I haven't read the rest of them.

Nothing shows true love more than when you hubby builds you a bookshelf <3 (I think he got tired of piled books all over our bedroom!)
This holds most of my summer TBR, probably a lot of fall too!
Thanks! It was heaven loading it up with my TBR books! Heaven right there :) Gives me an excuse to hold and admire my books! I love reorganizing them for that reason.

I want a library. When my oldest goes to college, he's losing his room to another brother so I can take over one of the smaller rooms with my books and such.

Okay I finished all of the Songs of Submission books and really enjoyed them
and now reading and enjoying
the one I'm struggling with is
regretfully it has me bored senseless, ugh! Why??!! I was so excited to finally dive into this one and I'm more than halfway done with it and nothing has happened. NOTHING!!!! WHY?! Why do authors do that?? There's only so much daily crap and everyday nonsense a reader can tolerate. I'm so close to shelving this one. I really don't want to, you know?? I'm holding out hope that the action is going to begin soon but wth?! It's taking forever! Dunno, maybe I'll give it another few chapters I guess and if still no action then sadly it'll be curtains for this one.

Wow, okay. I don't know, I've resigned myself to reading books 1 and 2 this summer, but now I'm wondering if I should just cliff's notes book 2 and skip to 3! LOL Just kidding, but honestly I hate it when authors do the huge time lapse with main characters because the loss of so much time together drives me batty. Wish she could have gone back to Jamie where they left off when she went back through the stones again!! =)

Bridget wrote: "Brooke, I saw you were reading
. How was it? Same JLA?"
Finished it last night. Yep, pretty much the same. I liked the story. The female MC was a bit different. Lots of issues going on. I grew up with those issues (in my family) so I was quick to scrutinize how they were portrayed and they were somewhat unrealistic from my many many years of experience. But overall it was fairly quick as a read and enjoyable enough. Andrea's story line made it a bit different from JLA's usual, but the characters didn't strike me as much different personality wise then what we've seen in the past.

Okay so I finally finished
and regretfully it never improved much. Such a wasted opportunity. I felt like all of the right components were there but the execution fell flat. The writing was good, the characters were developed, the story was decent, but somehow it just ended up being dragged out with too much focus on mundane boring stuff. I felt like it lacked impact or excitement, sigh... ugh! My goodness she even managed to make the action feel boring. That's 13 freaking hours I'm not going to get back!! Such a long book for such a boring story :(
