Finished Daisy and the Front Man (Backstage Pass #3) by Rebekah L. Purdy and Scorched (Frigid, #2) by J. Lynn . I love the band series by Entangled. I already have the next one to read and review! Scorched was good, though being familiar with the subject matter I think it wasn't exactly true to life. Still reading Dirty Thoughts (Mechanics of Love, #1) by Megan Erickson and Date with a Rockstar by Sarah Gagnon . Hoping to finish Dirty Thoughts today.

Kelly Elise | 188 comments Just finished listening to Dreams of Gods & Monsters (Daughter of Smoke & Bone, #3) by Laini Taylor , which was good but probably would have been great had I read the books in the right order - woops, and reading Uglies (Uglies, #1) by Scott Westerfeld , which was so so for me, but the ending made me have high hopes for book 2? thoughts on the rest of this series anyone?

Started reading The Indigo Spell (Bloodlines, #3) by Richelle Mead

I wasn't an Uglies fan. I read the first three books. Didn't bother with the 4th as it was really a spin off and I was just not enough of a fan.

I really didn't like the main character and I also didn't love the story. but that's just me. I know a ton of people who really liked it. I just think there is better dystopian out there.

Rachel Marks | 147 comments FINALLY finished The Consequence of Loving Colton (Consequence, #1) by Rachel Van Dyken . Now I'm going back to listening to Dead Spots (Scarlett Bernard, #1) by Melissa F. Olson and hoping it gets better. The reader is making the poor Hispanic LI sound a bit light in the heels and so the romance parts are falling kinda flat. :/

Belkis (bminaya) | 8313 comments Okay I finished all of the Songs of Submission books and really enjoyed them Resist (Songs of Submission, #6) by C.D. Reiss Sing (Songs of Submission, #7) by C.D. Reiss Monica (Songs of Submission, #7.5) by C.D. Reiss Dominance (Songs of Submission, #8) by C.D. Reiss and now reading and enjoying Coda (Songs of Submission, #9) by C.D. Reiss the one I'm struggling with is The Kiss of Deception (The Remnant Chronicles, #1) by Mary E. Pearson regretfully it has me bored senseless, ugh! Why??!! I was so excited to finally dive into this one and I'm more than halfway done with it and nothing has happened. NOTHING!!!! WHY?! Why do authors do that?? There's only so much daily crap and everyday nonsense a reader can tolerate. I'm so close to shelving this one. I really don't want to, you know?? I'm holding out hope that the action is going to begin soon but wth?! It's taking forever! Dunno, maybe I'll give it another few chapters I guess and if still no action then sadly it'll be curtains for this one.

Wow, okay. I don't know, I've resigned myself to reading books 1 and 2 this summer, but now I'm wondering if I should just cliff's notes book 2 and skip to 3! LOL Just kidding, but honestly I hate it when authors do the huge time lapse with main characters because the loss of so much time together drives me batty. Wish she could have gone back to Jamie where they left off when she went back through the stones again!! =)

I have a theory - it's because they're trying to stretch their book into a series when it would've been much better just finishing it in one book.

Once you read the books it'll all make sense why the author did it that way. I feel bad for what Jamie went through but Claire had it pretty rough too. It tore her apart to leave Jamie.

Finished it last night. Yep, pretty much the same. I liked the story. The female MC was a bit different. Lots of issues going on. I grew up with those issues (in my family) so I was quick to scrutinize how they were portrayed and they were somewhat unrealistic from my many many years of experience. But overall it was fairly quick as a read and enjoyable enough. Andrea's story line made it a bit different from JLA's usual, but the characters didn't strike me as much different personality wise then what we've seen in the past.

Belkis (bminaya) | 8313 comments Okay so I finally finished The Kiss of Deception (The Remnant Chronicles, #1) by Mary E. Pearson and regretfully it never improved much. Such a wasted opportunity. I felt like all of the right components were there but the execution fell flat. The writing was good, the characters were developed, the story was decent, but somehow it just ended up being dragged out with too much focus on mundane boring stuff. I felt like it lacked impact or excitement, sigh... ugh! My goodness she even managed to make the action feel boring. That's 13 freaking hours I'm not going to get back!! Such a long book for such a boring story :(
