I just finished which I really liked. My husband has family that came to America from Yugoslavia so it was interesting to read about the war and the culture. I am getting ready to read because my daughter participates in Battle of the Books and this book is listed on the middle school list for next year. I have heard good things, so I hope it is good and that we can enjoy it together.

Oh Victoria the whole Lunar Chronicles series is fantastic! Cinder is great and the books just keep getting better and better.

The Raven Boys is such a beautifully written and intriguing story MadameZelda, I highly recommend them.

I really enjoyed the Waverley sisters too Jenny I read the first 2 I think a while back so I might need to do a reread or a listen on audio to get refreshed before getting to the others in the series. I do enjoy Sarah Addison Allen's writing. Oh and I'm so excited over the fact that David's Dwellers series is now releasing on audio so that I can finally get to the rest of them. I really enjoyed the first book but haven't found the time to read the rest so woohoo audiobooks rule!

Oh so it's to be continued then. Thanks for the heads-up Rebecca I'll keep it in my tbr for a little bit longer and not rush despite wanting to read it badly. There are just so many stories that we're waiting around for releases that I'd rather not add to the waiting craziness if at all possible. I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed it though :)

I really loved this trilogy too but book 1 Angelfall will always be my favorite of the 3. The story is so funny! Love the banter between Penryn & Raffe. And OMG the crazy mother is a HOOT!

Finished which I have mixed feelings about. One one hand, I did mostly enjoy the read, and thought the story itself was interesting, loved the world building. But the 2 MCs...UGH. I started to like Ash, but by the end, I was so meh on him...never ever related to Natalie. And talk about the worst case of instalove I think I've ever read! The characters were just not developed enough, and I never felt their romance.

But, like I said, the story was interesting, and right now I'm leaning towards reading the sequel. I kind of want to find out what happens!

You did better than me. I agree, the premise and a lot of the story line were interesting. But I just couldn't finish it. It's still languishing on my 'maybe someday I'll get around to finishing it' shelf.

And ugh, are you serious?! lol See, that's why I'm worried about going past the first book, because I absolutely ADORE Jamie beyond words, and if he has to go through absolute hell only to then (view spoiler)[ lose her for TWENTY years, I don't know if I could take it. That just tears my heart out to think about, what was the point in all of his suffering?? He gets to go through his worst nightmare and then lose the love of his life and not see his own child grow up, that's great. And I read another review that said he has a child with someone else at some point, and that Claire marries someone else and is still pining over Frank the whole time...I just picture myself getting very angry as I read on in this series. I get way too invested in my favorite characters and stories that just never give them a true happy ending hurt too much to read. The idea of them both moving on with someone else during their separation (or whenever it happened) just tarnishes the whole romance factor! Well the end of book 2 definitely left me bawling. More for Claire than anyone else. (view spoiler)[She leaves Jamie behind because he thinks he's about to die and Claire is pregnant with their child. She doesn't want to, but he insists because he doesn't want her to stay in the 1700s as a widow with a baby. The only reason Claire stays in the future for so long is because she truly believes Jamie died. Then she finds out he didn't and goes back to find him in book 3. That part was really good. Jamie does have a kid with someone else but it's not like you think. That whole situation was sort of forced on him. Neither of them got over each other the whole twenty years they were apart. They really do have a beautiful love story... (hide spoiler)]I think you should read on. Book 2 will break your heart but it gets much better in book 3 and in book 4 Jamie even gets to meet his daughter which is really sweet.

These Broken Stars is an amazing book. This Shattered World is just as great. I am still trying to pick which one I loved more.

Well that kind of sucks Jenny, sorry. I hate it when you can't connect to the MCs in a story. That kind of kills it for me too. I guess I won't be bothering to get to Black City. Lord knows that there thousands of books for us to get to :)
