Jenny (juliababyjen) | 1075 comments I haven't read books 3 & 4 in the series yet. My goal is to finish this series this year! But its been 4 years since I read the first 2, so wanted to reread them first. Enjoying the rereads!

Good because you're sure going to want to jump into book 2 as soon as you're done with book 1 Rachel. Thank goodness all of the books are out and you don't have to wait for them to come out like I had to. The wait for pure torture.

You know Tracy, I LOVED the Eragon movie and was bummed when they didn't continue with the movies for the rest for the books. So I bought all of the books and have them sitting in my kindle but haven't read them yet :( now I have the first book on audio so maybe I'll finally get to it. I do love dragon stories and Eragon was a definite favorite.

message 19906: by Sara (new)

Sara | 1037 comments Poison Study (Study, #1) by Maria V. Snyder was alright. I like Throne of Glass better, which I have seen it compared to. I think I need a contemporary now so maybe Remembering Joy (Joy, #1) by Jenni Moen or Consolation (The Consolation Duet, #1) by Corinne Michaels

The movie was great and I read all the books after and now I see why they didn't continue the movies. They took so much out of the books that they didn't even give themselves the foundation for the second movie. They edited themselves into a corner. But they are now attempting to resell the rights to have the movie remade. I really hope they do it!

message 19910: by Belkis (new)

Belkis (bminaya) | 8313 comments Okay so I finished Void by Cassy Roop and I was sorely disappointed. The premise was such a good one. And the book synopsis had me salivating. But alas the execution fell excruciatingly short. It turned into a mess. The author lost focus and tried to do to many things in one book. Oh well, back to Sweet Dreams (Colorado Mountain, #2) by Kristen Ashley which is of course fantastic! And OMG I found out that While We Waited (The Reed Brothers, #8) by Tammy Falkner is out!!!! EEEKKKPPP!! Love Love the Reeds!

message 19911: by Belkis (last edited May 25, 2015 07:32PM) (new)

Belkis (bminaya) | 8313 comments Oh Sara these 2 contemps look very good. Keep us posted on how you like them. Also, for some reason the Poison Study books have never really drawn my attention. I tried her other fantasy series Touch of Power (Healer, #1) by Maria V. Snyder and it didn't wow me either so I only finished the first book.

OMG the beginning was so good. If she just would've kept the focus on the main characters and their main struggles/issues, that would've been more than enough for the one book. But noooo the author went into other subplots and also her character integrity fell through as well making them sort of unbelievable. That's 8 hours I'm not going to get back LOL!

Perhaps I need to read it again. I love David's stuff. I really enjoyed his witch series so much! Maybe I wasn't in a dystopian mood. I think I will enjoy the second book better than I did the first. Lots of world building in the first, so it made it a bit slow for me.
