Maybe I was just tired after listening to it all day so I set it aside and hopefully when I dive back into it today I'll be happier with it because the story is beautifully written.

Ive looked at them a few times Tracy ..I might give them a try. Im on a PNR/Horror/Mystery streak so Yeah Not looking for any fluff or romance maybe that will get me out of the book hte im having for N/A books right now

I also felt the same about End of Days, I liked it a lot but didn't love it like I loved the first book, but still a great trilogy and overall great story.

Because aCoTaR is a Beauty and the Beast retelling. It's better today I'm enjoying it today actually :)

I just didn't care for the way everything gets drawn out in Throne of Glass. It's such a long series and everything is getting worse before it gets better and I don't have the patience to wait another 4 books to find out what happens. Plus I hate Celaena.

If it helps ACoTsR is completely different to ToG - it's told in first person and has a completely different writing style

I'm completely addicted to the Virgin River series so I will probably be derailed from most of the other books, series, etc in my tbr until I get through all of the books :D thank goodness that all of the books are out and I have them all LOL! Onward!

Finally finished
- started it a few months ago but had to put it down for some reason...anyway. I enjoyed it although it was hard to take at times...very well written though...looking forward to Winter now.,Done with fairy tales for a while now! I'm moving on to

I'm like at 70% and the slow pace is unbearable anymore. After a whole freak..."I'm about 1/2 way through now. It's picked up a bit. I love her ToG series. HoF was a bit slow, considering all the world building she had to do it's understandable. But ACoTaR is just not gripping me. I hope it takes off soon. It's not horrible, but it's just not what her other writing is. It's also much more adult than I thought it would be.

Heh, bizarrely the couple of people I know who've read it so far have hated the MC.
Think it may be a love it or hate it kind of book. But then the previous books were a bit like that as well.

Still thin..."That was my issue throughout this one Brooke. Eventhough it does pick up a bit in the last portion, it still felt slow for me. I ended up appreciating Maas' storytelling, writing, and characters, but the pacing still frustrated me from start to finish.

I hate that too Donna but unless I like many things about a series I won't stick with it. I have high hopes about The Court of Thorns and Roses though. It's Maas and she's such a talented writer that I'm sure everything will be eventually good with this new series.
