I completely agree with you Bridget. I've listened to the Scribe & started listening to the Singer - same narrator & although it takes some getting used to, I feel like stabbing myself repeatedly in the heart. He is so depressing. Good, but depressing. lol. But I listen b/c it's such a fantastic series I can't stop.

Donna | 1350 comments Finished listening to Phantom Shadows (Immortal Guardians, #3) by Dianne Duvall & I don't know why I listen to this series - it just gets worse and worse. But there's 1 more book so of course I'm gonna finish it. ARG! Also finished First Grave on the Right (Charley Davidson, #1) by Darynda Jones & loved it! Charley is a nut.

Are you listening to Charley Davidson on audio Donna? I love the narrator of those books. She also does the Stephanie Plum series. I will listen to a book just because Loreli King narrates them.

Oh no, that's pretty discouraging. Is A Court of Thorns and Roses (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #1) by Sarah J. Maas meant to be a series? My biggest pet peeve is when books drag because they are meant to be a series so the author drags the story along rather than pacing it properly. I think I'm going to pass on this one. If you're finding it slow, I'm sure I will too.

It is a series but I don't think that's why it's slower, I think it's the fact that's it's written for an older age group

I actually didn't find the second half slow at all, I was actually amazed at how much Maas was able to pack in...there is a solid resolution also so it will be interesting to see how the series pans out

I hate when that happens. I did that for another read recently. It took me literally MONTHS to get through, but I finally got to a point where it picked up (for me) & I finished the rest of it in, like, a day. Hope that happens for you.
