I started reading Pucked by Helena Hunting because Brooke was in stitches over it. It's pretty good and has quite the funny banter. I found myself laughing out loud at her references to her "beaver" hahaha

43% into Sincerely, Carter by Whitney Gracia Williams and I'm not really feeling it, to be honest. I don't feel the connection between the main characters. No chemistry for me at all. I'm a bit disappointed since it came so highly recommended.

It just didn't catch my attention. It was not believable for me. And I just didn't like the way the main characters were interacting.

Annie, so glad you loved it too. I had started to read Loving Mr. Daniels a while back but the teacher/student scenario reminded me too much of Slammed so I put it down as I wasn't that impressed by it. I might get back to it but the writing wasn't as good as it is with this one.

Danielle (Danniegurl) (danniesreads) | 1326 comments So I finished Always Been Mine (The Moreno Brothers, #2) by Elizabeth Reyes and its ehhhhh. Like here's the thing I like it and I don't like it. The writing is what bothers me. It's written in a way where it's more telling than showing and very little dialogue. I just don't like that. Not only that but the characters are supposed to be 21+ and they talk about intimacy as "doing it" sorry most 20 something's don't call it that at all. The characters did a lot of hiding things from each other, even though that was their problem to begin with. Then the heroine is ignoring her instincts about people and trying to force herself to like someone else it was just awful. The downside for me is that I still want to know what the other couples throughout the book are going to go through since they get their own books, however with the way the writing goes I'm not sure I could hang with this series. And yet I want to know. Ugh.

Danielle (Danniegurl) (danniesreads) | 1326 comments So earlier today I went through my tbrs and made new shelves for things I've read that were in my tbr section. Example I had vampires but I was sick of seeing books I already read and having to sift through them so I made a vampires read shelf. It's so much nicer I did this for vampires, weres/shifters and adult romance. I also did it for paranormal romance but I couldn't finish it because I had to get ready to leave so that one is in progress lol. But it's nice to see I actually have say like 72 books tbr for vampires rather than the 172 it told me or whatever lol.

You go on the computer you go to my books click a shelf and click batch edit then I made all my reads too to the top and just checked them until I got to one I hadn't read and then "move books to _____shelf" then I removed them from that same shelf. I had to make the new shelf before doing all that but it literally took maybe 5 mins for one shelf not even.

May madness has set in, so things are crazy and I don't have as much reading time. But I saw an advertisement on Facebook saying that They Who Fell (They Who Fell, #1) by Kevin Kneupper was the next Twilight, so I grabbed it up and dove in last week. Yeah, not so much. It's intriguing and I loved the super creepy Angelfall-type vibe, for sure, but the love story aspect is too flat. There's just no chemistry because the main characters are so one-dimensional and have so little actual time together, and it's a shame because it could have been one of those epic stories that we all read over and over. There's a huge cliffie so I'm going to read the sequel, but I'm not hoping for much.

I also finished Fair Game (The Rules, #1) by Monica Murphy for review and really enjoyed it! I often compare her books to her One Week Girlfriend, which I adored, and this one wasn't AS good, but it's still a definite add for the TBR.

And now I get to dive into Before You (You & Me, #0.5) by Annie Brewer by our Annie!!! <3

Belkis (bminaya) | 8313 comments Okay I can't remember if I posted this or not LOL! But I finished Uncivilized by Sawyer Bennett and end up liking it a lot. Then I jumped into Prodigal (The Lost Imperials, #2) by Tyler Jolley which is fantastic and I'm almost done with it. I also finished Second Chance Pass (Virgin River, #5) by Robyn Carr which was great. I'm so addicted to these small town romances and Robyn Carr is just fantastic at writing them. She sucks you right into all the wonderful characters she writes and the stories she spins. I'm so glad that all the books/audios are already out for her Virgin River series so I don't have wait for them to come out like I have to for her Thunder Point series.

I tried this author's other series Noah (5th Street, #1) by Elizabeth Reyes Gio (5th Street, #2) by Elizabeth Reyes and that's as far as I got. The writing wasn't great and the characters weren't well developed and the stories were sort of meh. The first book was sort of okay so I moved onto book 2 but that was worst so I ended it there. And this series came after The Moreno Brothers so her writing hasn't improved much.....

That does suck. You get invested in the characters to a series and then it's like you HAVE to know what happens. I feel you. But yes, her writing isn't great :(

The writing seems much more juvenile than I remember. Very bland. I remember loving the first book so much. We shall see what happens, I guess.
