Book 2 was not my favorite one either Brooke but it wasn't bad just not as great as the first one. But books 3 and 4 were fantastic!

Belkis (bminaya) | 8313 comments I finished the audiobook of A Virgin River Christmas (Virgin River, #4) by Robyn Carr and it was very good. Loving this series so far. Very addicting. I jumped into the audio of Bloodlines (Conversion, #2) by S.C. Stephens since I needed a light pnr that I could listen to while at work. I liked the first book and so far this one is also good.

But that's the thing, it really isn't. None of the main issues for starting the spin off were resolved. None of the issues brought forth in some of the plots in the middle of the series were resolved. It's like it ended but being just about the relationship except that wasn't what the series was supposed to be about. It is just stupid so it's left open for yet another spin off. Now that I probably won't read unless the ones who rated similar to me for this book rated them well.

I couldn't disagree with this more - while books 2 and 3 were my favourites in the series I loved 4, 5 and 6 as well and found them all completely un-put-downable…there were a couple of things that were left open at the end of book 6 but i wouldn't say it was 'completely unresolved' …the characters stories were tied up nicely and the few things that were left open were done so because Mead has said she is considering revisiting the VA world in some distant time down the track

If you're in the middle of this series and are wondering whether or not to go on, I always think it's better to find out for yourself than to listen to others…maybe you'll end up disappointed, but maybe you'll end up loving it like so many people have - that's a gamble you take with any book, really.

I think that's a really well-written review and I completely agree with what she says at the start about it being her opinion and that everyone is entitled to their own…that's the whole reason for this website after all!

I'm not sure I agree with the character derailment comments; personally, i thought the characters grew well from novel to novel…yes Rose was different in Bloodlines, but she had changed a lot by the end of VA too so I wasn't really bothered by this - we still saw glimpses of her classic traits: humour, outspokenness, curiosity, foot in mouth tendencies etc

…and as for Adrian and Sydney - I've read all 6 books in succession twice and have always found their development and growth to be natural…I really liked having Adrian's voice from book 4 onwards, but this might be something others weren't a fan of?

This is just my opinion though…I love Mead's writing and am really looking forward to her new series and the next Age of X book…and if she ever goes back to Va i will be all over that!

I how ever really didnt care for the last two books in Bloodlines. I think Ruby Circle left the VA/Bloodlines series open to her go back if she veer wanted too and I to would be all oover it IF she ever did.

I am loving her Age of X series so far and looking forward to her new YA series also!

Laura (llbasaldua) | 790 comments I agree with you also Dani and its why I didnt like the last two books there is to much left open and the reason for the spin off to start with but they really dont need a cure because its obvious no matter what they did it would put any of the Spirit users in danger. But the Jill/Lissa story was never finished off not even close so yeah I just have the feeling she will some day go back to the VA/Bloodlines series.

Yea I just didn't like it. It became more about the relationship and less about keeping Jill safe. And yes I was a Sydrian shipper, I book pushed this series on my sister, but she too was disappointed as well. We were both flabbergasted at how weak the plot was. I guessed who the villain was early on. I just didn't like it. I'm glad you all liked it, but I expected a much better finish out to the series than what I received and I'm very annoyed and upset by that. It's how I felt with Everneath as well (different author) but I'm really sick of series ending poorly.
