I read the book of novellas first before jumping in. I liked having the background on the MC before I started reading her story. The first book takes place a bit after the ending of the final novella. I know people who have read them after, and they were ok. But that was because the novellas came out after they had read book one. IMO you need the novellas to really understand why Celeana is the way she is.

You spoke too soon. I finished The Deal and now moved onto The Year We Fell Down and, while I"m 52% into it, it's just meh for me.

LOVE LOVE Throne of Glass it's SO SO GOOD! Yes, read it Savannah.

I liked the Year We Fell Down, but it didn't wow me. I gave it 3 stars.

Me too Tracy :)

I'll have to check this series out Cheryl.

OMGoodness Sylvia you need to read this one as soon as you possibly can.

Yeah, that's probably where I'll end up with it at this point. I need something that grabs me more.

I read ToG and CoM first, then the novellas when they came out and I loved how the novellas filled in the little gaps hinted at in the novels...it's completely up to you....the novellas are fantastic but if you want to dive right in to the ToG story you can, you don't actually need to read the novellas but they do give back story and are very good reads

I did the same thing too Ash. I read ToG & CoM and then read the novellas and it was fine for me too.

Okay, cool. So it doesn't matter if I read the novellas first, last or somewhere in between. The novellas don't give anything away or make confused because I didn't start with the actual book series first, though, right?

Brooke, should I read all of ..."
Nope the novellas don't give anything important away, the real story starts with ToG....it's sort of hard to explain but if you read ToG first you will find the novellas kind of explain how Celaena got to where she was at the start of the book and how she became who she was....I think reading them first would be a different experience but not a bad one...as I said, they are fantastic, as are the three books so far

Okay, great. I think I'll start with the novellas; I like to know what's going on with the book's plot and also it's main character. and exactly how the main character got to where he/she is. Thanks, Ash! :-)

I don't think so. They are just a lot of background on the main character. You get to see why she became the way she is: her happiness, sadness, losses, etc. For me, it made me understand more, especially in the first book.

Yep, it's a cliff hanger for sure. I mean, I was ok, I know it will continue. It didn't kill me. But it's a cliffhanger! I preferred Ugly Love to this one.

Just finished
and really enjoyed it. Action packed and full of adventure…look forward to continuing with the series.

I thought Prick was good. Kinda similar to Stepbrother Dearest, but IMO SD was better

Don't we all, Belkis!! I think I could read 24 hours a day and still never be caught up. But seriously, Never Never was really good.

Yes it has a big cliffhanger, and the second comes out in May. I loved Ugly Love too. You can't go wrong with either.

Yeah, I was kinda thinking that same thing. I just started last night, but I'm enjoying it. Caulter seems a bit harsh though.

Yup Tracy and I've wanted to read it for such a very long time too. I'm going to try very hard to read it before the end of the month.

I have been trying to do that myself Belkis but that never works. Right now I am reading a book which I know has a cliffhanger and the 2nd book doesn't even have a release date.
