Victoria | 259 comments I have been on an adult reading kick lately. I had to read The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman for my book club, which was good, but slow. Then I read Dr. Mutter's Marvels A True Tale of Intrigue and Innovation at the Dawn of Modern Medicine by Cristin O'Keefe Aptowicz because it was recommended to me by a friend, it was interesting and made me very glad to be born in age of modern medicine..haha. Now I am reading The Bloodletter's Daughter by Linda Lafferty just because it looked good. I hope I like it, but I am ready to get back to some YA and NA. I am disappointed to see everyone's opinions on the new Colleen Hoover book, Confess. I was hoping good things, but like everyone else I think her books have gone downhill for me since Hopeless... so now I am not as excited about it.

it was very strange, Tracy, because it was kind of depressing and very slow paced, but I still found myself not putting it down.. and I talked to my friend and she was feeling the same way. It is well written, but did I mention slllloooowwww. You could literally skip 3 chapters at a time and miss nothing..haha! My whole book club agreed that it was about a 2.5 to 3 star kind of book. No one really hated it, but no one really loved it either.

What happened to him was devastating and the pain just got to me. But, Hopeless too did that for me. As for the movie version of Fault, I was a mess from the opening all the way through. That movie was the death of me!

Finished #Player (Hashtag, #3) by Cambria Hebert and it was just ok. I didn't love the turn it took, like the twist. Meh! I felt like the author needed something to spice up book #3 because she ran out of stuff to have happen between the characters. But the overall book and series is really cute. I read a bit more of The Sin Eater’s Daughter (The Sin Eater’s Daughter, #1) by Melinda Salisbury last night and it's really just taking a turn to boring for me. I'm 69% through so I might as well finish it. But it won't get more than 3 stars from me. Probably more like 2.5. And I'm about 1/2 way through Fall with Me (Wait for You, #4) by J. Lynn . It's typical JLA, but I just think I need a different story with the NA. Next up is Trust The Focus (In Focus #1) by Megan Erickson while I finish up The Legacy Human (Singularity #1) by Susan Kaye Quinn

Ugly Love was a tearjerker for sure. I can't even. What happened to him was horrible. But again for some reason it was not my favorite from Colleen. Still, who knows. I've yet to read Never, Never & Confess. Starting Confess now so we'll see and Never, Never I'm going to wait until all of the books are out for it. I was disappointed in Red Queen. Such hype and it just didn't live up to it for me. I have not continued with Ensnared, I'm scared *hold me* to read it. I have it, but have been putting it off. I really need to read it though, before the 3.5 comes out!
