What Are You Reading? 2015

I did that same thing last year Ash! I picked up the first, then had the whole series read in a weeknor two. Great series for sure!

I've been wanting to read

Haha. Fracture did me in as well. It completely tipped the scales in favor of Warner for me. I'm a little jealous that you're reading this for the first time;)

Thanks Tiana. It really is a beautiful story.

I feel like that was the point too. It bothered me a bit. It was almost like halfway through she changed her mind about everything.

Yes!! I agree!!

I agree. The interesting thing is, you only see Adam from Juliette's POV. So we never know what he's thinking or anything, ya know. So to see him from his own POV turned him into a different light. I really loved Adam in the first book. Then I grew to love Warner in the novella. I feel like she could have balanced it better (no matter what decision Juliette came to).

Love is blind sometimes. Especially young love. So that means Adam wasnt necessarily as awesome as Juliette thought he was. And as Brooke said, we only ever saw him through Juliette's POV until that novella. So it isnt necessarily Adam that changed, but Juliette.

YES! I'm thinking of re-reading the series soon. It's been on my mind lately. Warner... yum!!

There's never a bad time for IAD, Erin! Good call

Ugh. Don't even get me started on The Divergent trilogy, Bridget. Loved the 1st book, liked the 2nd and almost dnf the last. :(

Yes, good point. Adam was the first guy she (view spoiler) so that was HUGE for her. When she realized she could also (view spoiler) she probably began to realize that Adam wasn't the be all end all. Still, I was sad when I read that novella. It really killed Adam for me.["br"]>["br"]>

Awe, you're so sweet Tiana411 <3 thank you and yes, please do read it. It's a book that can't be explained as to why there is so many conflicting emotions going on after you are done reading it. Well worth it though!

It is kind of sad that she did that to Adam's character. I guess that's why I was so thrown back by how much he had changed since Shatter Me.

Unless it was her plan this whole time but I seriously doubt it because you see through her writing how much she loved Adam in Shatter Me…I'm talking about Tahereh

Could be she had a change of heart. Or figured doing what she did would bring more readers? Who knows.

Yeah I definitely agree that the sequels aren't as good as Divergent itself, but I think if you hang on til the end you'll be quite satisfied with the way the series pans out...
I listened to all three on audio and quite liked Emma Galvin - she is actually one of my favourite narrators...and I found the guy who does Four's narration in the final book was pretty good too...HOWEVER, everyone has different tastes and if you're not enjoying the narration then I definitely suggest reading the book instead - an irritating narrator can really ruin a book

She said it was the plan from the beginning. I believe her. It seemed to be heading in that direction all along to me.

I did not love va immediately. It took a few months. One fine day I found out that I love it to pieces.

I read the first 4 back to back and book 6 was set to release in a month. So I waited for it and read book 5 and 6 together. But the wait was excruciating because of the bloody cliffhanger at end of book 4.

Brooke, you have to read va. I guarantee that it will be your next favourite.

I LOVED LOVED

I'm in the middle of reading the Clipped Wings series too Bridget and it's pretty good so far. I still need to read book 2 and the last novella. I think you'll like them.

Oh yes! I need to dig this one out from underneath my huge tbe pile too. Thanks for reminding me or it Rachel been wanting to read it for a while. Moving it up my tbr right now :)

WooHoo KA is always a great choice! I plan on reading this one this month too Donna. Really enjoyed The Gamble last month.

Yay! You're welcome!

I get that with audiobooks, I have to have read the book first a few times or the info just floats in and out. Accents don't help, I listened to VA and I could not take Dimitri seriously at all with the hilariously bad Russian accent, and during Talon I just wanted to throw something with the offensively stereotypical "British" accent

Haha omg I am listening to Talon RIGHT NOW and thought Wes's accent wasn't tooo bad during Riley's chapters, but he has just popped up in one of Ember's chapters and oh my god the female narrator sounds like she's channeling Eliza Dolittle! Sooooo awful!!
I didn't have a problem with Dimitri's accent in VA/Bloodlines...I actually thought it sounded weird in the Khristine Hvam ones when he didn't have one....what was really awful was Adrian's weird British accent, which miraculously disappeared when they bought in an American co-narrator for the fourth Bloodlines

Oh definitely by book #2 is was heading there! Even after I read the first novella, I knew things would be complicated. I just wasn't sure if she'd turn it around in the end. But Adam's novella solidified things for sure.

Well I'm probably 70% in where it seems that Four has this awesome escape/rescue planned. I'll admit it's better now than it was in the beginning. I'm just not loving it like I did Divergent. Maybe it's because it's on audio (I read the first one). Maybe that is throwing me off. The narrator has to be great for me to get into an audio book. I think maybe audio just isn't for me.
