It's so beautiful Sylvia. This one is going to stay with me for a very long time. Definitely going to go see the movie when it releases. Haven't been able to start anything else or stop thinking about it...

Bree (breesc23) Finished Hushed by Kelley York (and man was it good!). Starting An Abundance of Katherines by John Green soon. Been wanting to read this for quite some time; something about repeatedly dating people with the same name is just too interesting not to pick up

I would not say its not good. Depends on what you want this book to be. For me, its the concept is intriguing but plot developments are dumped on us without ceremony. Then there is your insufferable insta love. What's with YA and cliche. I am in chapter 17 and I have not given up yet.: D

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 152 comments Finally had time to read Dead of Winter (The Arcana Chronicles, #3) by Kresley Cole . Wowizer. That is why I hord books up until about book 7, or the series is finished. Cruel cliffhanger.

I have to give props to Cole (view spoiler) Though until about 50 pages into the next book nothing from the cliffhanger can be taken at face value. So the sadness hasn't set in yet.

(view spoiler)

No world building, insta-love, characters were not developed well enough for me. Plus the MC does things that are out of character with what I would think her to do.

I agree on undeveloped character, insta love and lack of world building. But it kept me on my toes. So I liked it.
As a reader I learnt some truths the hard way;that YA has imperfections and some are full with it; that I must read my way through the imperfect ones to reach the best ones; that I must be patient and that there is the chance that what someone hates, I might like.

All very true. I liked it enough in the end that I might read the next one. Unfortunately, what I'm finding lately, is less "good" stuff and more "trash" when it comes to YA. I'm trying to stick to those authors I know and also taking my recommendations for reading from them and my trusted friends. Although, I did that last week and ended up DNFing a book, so even that's not tried and true!

I love books that push the envelope and make you think. This one is definitely one of them. In the end you can understand the choices and arguments made. Very powerful story and so beautifully written.

Belkis (bminaya) | 8313 comments Well, since I was dwelling in Me Before You by Jojo Moyes I decided to start The Five Stages of Falling in Love by Rachel Higginson and I'm enjoying it a lot so far. The writing is good and pulls you in but sometimes the things that happen to the characters just leave me a bit put off. Although I'm still in the sad part of the story so by the time I get to the happy part (oh goodness please let there be a happy part LOL!) it should help me work out some of my book sadness.
