Bridget | 1517 comments I've been flying through the IAD series. I've made it to book 8 maybe? Anyway, I'm giving it a break for a few days so that I don't burn myself out. In the meantime, I'm reading Marked (House of Night #1) by P.C. Cast then going back to another series that I started long ago that has been sitting in the tbr forever: Passion Unleashed (Demonica, #3) by Larissa Ione

That's what I'm hoping! Every time I'm on BookOutlet.com, it pops up as a recommendation and everyone says it's absolutely fantastic and since one my favorite genres are fairytale retellings, I figured I should just go ahead and go for it! I'm about five chapters in and so far so good! :-)

message 14962: by Victoria (new)

Victoria | 259 comments starting City of Heavenly Fire (The Mortal Instruments, #6) by Cassandra Clare because one of my goals this year is to finish up some of the series that I started and got away from or didn't finish and this was one of them. I loved the first three, didn't like 4 at all, thought 5 was mediocre and then just never bothered with 6, but I have heard good things about the ending and it is time for closure so.. here goes and good grief it is big...lol!

OHMYGERD I could not put Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night (Immortals After Dark, #4) by Kresley Cole down!! This series is going to suck my wallet dry, every time I finish one I need the next ASAP. Need to see if our library or used book store has any so I can save some $$, because at $8 a book I'm looking at too big of an investment by the time I get caught up.

I'm reading 314 by A.R. Wise and it's OK. Well...it has it's moments. It's supposed to be scary and in a way it is but it's gross in places. I feel like the author tried to do a remake of Stephen King's The Mist.

I agree completely, Erin. As much as I adore Ward and am in love with her world, I admit to skipping pages during the chapters from the Lesser's POV, or pretty much anyone who the story isn't about. At least with the IAD series, it's centered around whom the story is supposed to be about. Saves me a lot of headache.

I know, I loved Ward's series too, but the flip-flop POV and being in the mind of the characters we're supposed to loathe got to me. Her writing is incredible, I just got tired of the constant shifting.

Yep, I find myself enjoying this series much more because I don't keep feeling the need to skim through pages or stop to figure out which character's head I'm in. Though, admittedly this also makes the IAD series VERY hard to put down because there just really isn't a spot where I think to myself "okay, here's a good stopping point." I just want the whole enchilada at once! =)
