I also thought the ending was good, anything else would have gone against Tris's personality completely

Okay, finished Insurgent (Divergent, #2) by Veronica Roth and first half drove me crazy and second half had me hooked. Ending was expected but not so that I wasn't too caught off guard and has me intrigued to read the next one but not sure I'm ready for that lol

I felt exactly the same way about it! I couldn't stand the main character but then everything started coming around and I liked it by the time it was over.

Yes you do - it is an awesome series.

message 14357: by Nitzan (new)

Nitzan Schwarz (nitzanafterwords) I'm currently reading The Last Bride in Ballymuir (Ballymuir, #1) by Dorien Kelly . It's a freebie I got three years ago that I'm reading as part of my Oldies challenge. It's nice and everything, but I've been reading it for three days which is twice the amount it usually takes me. I'm not sure if it's my mood that causing this slow reading or the book...
Afterwards I'm planning on reading Sea Glass (Glass, #2) by Maria V. Snyder and Spy Glass (Glass, #3) by Maria V. Snyder as I've been approved for an arc of Shadow Study and I cannot wait to read it!!!

I loved this book. I think this is Oliver's best book. Yes, they are bitchy, but that's the point. The point is the fact that her character develops into something totally different.

Well, it had to happen one day! LOL! You didn't like it, I take it? Also, keep in mind, I read this a while back, when Oliver was the be all end all for me. I have since found better authors, to be honest. If I read it now, I am not sure I would feel the same way I did back then!

Finished Polaris (Avalon, #2) by Mindee Arnett and really enjoyed it. I was worried for a bit at the end, though. I didn't love it as much as the first, but still really good. Started The Prey (The Hatchery, #1) by Tom Isbell and so far I'm not impressed (and from the ratings I see not many have been). It's weird, written in two POV's but one first person and one third. I'm not sure how much longer I'll give it...

I have a feeling she won't allow them to change it drastically enough to make me happy. From what I've read, she was very strong in her beliefs about why she chose that crappy ending (I know, I know, there are fans of the ending, but I just wish she'd have made things seem one way and then turn around to be a HEA or something...), and unless they force her I can't see her going another route...maybe an alternate ending option? lol

A lot of people felt that way, which is why I never got back to the series after Divergent. I was so frustrated to hear the series didn't keep it's awesome momentum, and then when I found out about that ending it ust pissed me off to no end.
