I know your decision is already made bit I totally agree with Daughter of Smoke and Bone. I read the Shadow and Bone series but only really liked the first one, the other two were just ok for me but I loved all the Laini Taylor books - and funny thing is in your little picture you kind of look like her too :)

Ashlee | 309 comments I got around to reading Stone Cold Touch (The Dark Elements, #2) by Jennifer L. Armentrout the other day and really enjoyed it...it's been a while since I read something by JLA and I have to admit I was missing her a bit....I will say this though - if Team Roth doesn't triumph in book 3 I may have to boycott her forever!! :)

I was still in a bit of a demon mood after I finished so I decided to read Sweet Evil (The Sweet Trilogy, #1) by Wendy Higgins ...umm..big mistake! If you enjoy plot holes, cliches, annoying whiny goodie goodie heroines and preachy subtext then this is the perfect book for you...if not, steer clear!

I didn't enjoy STC as much as WHK and BS. I hope the last book is better for me.
I enjoyed the Sweet trilogy enough, but not as much as others. It was just ok for me.

Yeah definitely not as good as WHK although the climax was good I thought....not a big Zayne fa so there was a lot in SCT that irritated me

This book actually had me liking Zayne alot better. I'm still Team Roth though. And I truly hated Abbott!

I'm really enjoying it so far. It's taking me a little longer to get through because my daughter is doing lots of girl scout things for the holidays. I haven't gotten to where it switches to Jakes pov. I'm dying to know why he's going home every weekend! I'm sure it's cuz of Ivy. But I LOVED My Skylar! I just wish I'd read them in order. I don't remember much of Jake N Nina even though they were important to Skylars story.

Finished Inspire by Cora Carmack and while I was annoyed that there was so much narrative/info dump/world building for the first 1/2, the second half TOTALLY made up for it. I think because she's not used to writing this genre it must have been hard for her. The writing is REALLY good. Not surprised b/c it's Carmack. Ended up jumping it from 3.5 to 4.5-5! Review to come. Also finished Corruption (Debt Collector 17) by Susan Kaye Quinn and I'm excited to move on to the next one, which is not yet listed on GR: Atonement. It's the final episode and since the last one ended on a cliffy I need to jump right into it. Also going back to Now That You're Here by Amy K. Nichols as I need to finish it before Tuesday!

It was a train wreck you couldn't help to keep reading. I think I read it after Thoughtless, and so it felt like it was on the same train so to speak. So I think for me I was driven nuts because of thoughtless.

Lol, I think we had a whole discussion on thoughtless a while back. Glad to see I can stir it up again. It's a love hate relationship for me. On more than several occasions while reading thoughtless series is wanted to chuck my iPad across the room...with BD and WD only on occasion did I feel maybe a headdesk was sufficient because honestly they were doing stupid things, stupid stupid stupid things. Like travis on the couch scene while Abby is in his bed ughhhhhhh. Lol.

Payne's pov was a bit of a let down for me too. When her character was first introduced, she was a bit of a badass. But once inside her head, I found her to be very "choseny" or "chosenlike".

The next one was better than this, IMO. It's Adam's POV and I just loved "hearing" him tell his story. It's also three years later.
