Another one on my TBR list that I've been meaning to get to.

That stinks! Hope your next one is better.

You should Danielle LOL! Since

ARGH! I so happy for you Danielle but also a little bit jealous LOL! enjoy it for both of us :P

Oh sorry Stephanie, that sucks. Hope your next read is a great one.

Gotta LOVE KA! She can do no wrong in my book Donna :) Need to get back to this series. She just has SO many and they're all good ones. So it makes it really hard to stay focused on one of them all the way through them and not jump around in between her other series which is exactly the problem I'm having hahahaha!

I really liked this book. I can't wait for the next one!"
Ditto for me Brooke. I'm anxiously awaiting for book 2. On a couple of new trilogies/stories actually. Same goes for

Oohh we'll have to check this one out Kitlina. We like finding little gems like these :)

I seriously need to get back to this and finish up the next 2 books. I really enjoyed the first 2 but when I went to move onto book 3 I discovered that she put 2 other books smack-dab in the freaking middle of it UGH!! So in order to not spoil the story I need to read

Hahaha! Why did I think that Talon was by Cassandra Clare?? LOL! Boy, I had a really rough day yesterday :P

I really need to read this series! Perhaps I should..."
Hahaha we need to read them so we can discuss them Danielle :D
I really really liked Glines Ceaseless trilogy but haven't been crazy about anything else of hers. I think she is a little to sweet for me, if that makes sense.

That's what I'm hoping too Heather. I LOVE LOVE Beautiful Disaster and Providence and Happenstance and even Red Hill (although I don't care for zombie stories so that's why I didn't enjoy it more) I truly like her writing.

Belkis - I read all the Too Far books before I moved on to the Perfection books and it flowed just fine for me. You don't need to do what you're proposing.

Wait how many books are there.....are they all about Rush and Blaire?

Wow..."
Danielle - There are four dedicated to Rush and Blair (although #4 is Rush 's pov from book #1), then it moves on to secondary characters from those books but Rush and Blair are still around in them

It's not sci-fi. I wouldn't call it fantasy either.

T&D is

Wow..."
The two Perfection books come in-between books 2 & 3 of Rush and Blaire. The Perfection books are Woods' story. There are things that happen in them that you would kind of be lost If you jumped right to the last Rush book.

Most high fantasy is set in a seemingly archaic world, but it is not our world. It's simply high fantasy.

Good to know, I kind of figured that out after the series name changed lol.

Did someone mention T&D? Holy moly I love that series.

Completely agree with you! But I find I crave her writing ... Oh, excuse me, I mean men. Sigh. She writes some hot alpha males.

Oh geez. GRs libs need to make notes on the descriptions like they did finally for Cat and Bones lol.

There are no fantasy/magical elements to this book, I definitely wouldn't call it fantasy...it's just set in an author-created society...the author said she was inspired by the Greco-Roman period after Rome had conquered Greece and enslaved it's people.
Sometime writers want to write about things like this without the limitations of historical fact so they just dream up their own society

I didn't know that. I thought for it to be fantasy there had to be some kind of "magical" element to it.

It counts, technically, although it is not what people first think of when they hear 'fantasy'. The 'high' fantasy, also known as 'epic' fantasy, is anything that is set it a separate world or universe than our own. Typically they also have wizards or elves or dragons, but they are not mandatory to gain the title.

I know what you're getting at, i.e. HF is set in an author-created world, while low/UF is set in the real world...BUT in order for it to count as fantasy to begin with it needs to have fantastic elements.
This is from wikipedia (search "Fantasy"):
The identifying traits of fantasy are the inclusion of fantastic elements in a self-coherent (internally consistent) setting, where inspiration from mythology and folklore remains a consistent theme.[2] Within such a structure, any location of the fantastical element is possible: it may be hidden in, or leak into the apparently real world setting, it may draw the characters into a world with such elements, or it may occur entirely in a fantasy world setting, where such elements are part of the world.[3] Essentially, fantasy follows rules of its own making, allowing magic and other fantastic devices to be used and still be internally cohesive.[4]
I suppose TWC would have to be classed as speculative fiction of some sort but to label it fantasy is misleading

OMG I so want to read these Sara. Have them all sitting in my kindle. Ugh! Need more reading time and more eyes! Good to know that they're all good reads.

Oh Sara that's another I want to read LOL! let me know how you like it pretty please :)

I feel similar with this series. I enjoyed the prequel and this one enough, then had issues with the second. And I've decided to take a break from her other books for now. The last three I read didn't do anything for me.

I honestly think that she just isn't for me Brooke. I also didn't like her Lux series either. Threw in the towel after book 2 on that one. I think I'm just going to accept that she's not for me :)

The only thing she has written that I love is the Lux series, well the three I have read. I read one of her NA books and I wasn't feeling it at all.

I really enjoyed the first three Lux..the fourth was reasonably okay...i still haven't read the last one...500+ pages is defeating the point of JLA for me...I've liked her books cause they're quick, easy reads and even though she can sometimes make you cringe, she also tends to suck you into turning those pages
