I read the book a for our dystopian month way back in 2012, so my memory was fuzzy. But my 18-year-old went with me and he was thrilled that it kept very close to the book. I can't remember how much 'romance' there was in the book, but my son said it was more evident than in the movie (which had none). and the grievers were very creepy: http://billdesowitz.com/method-makes-...

I'm reading it right now, the author wrote that it's Jared's POV but not a rehash of bully. It's about his life and feelings.

There wasn't any romance in the Maze Runner. There was a build up to romance but not actual romance.

Finished Whatever Life Throws at You by Julie Cross and I really enjoyed it. A lot. There was a bit of heart break, but only for a moment and I'm so thankful b/c I don't think I could handle more! LOL! Now off to finish my beta read and Invisible (The Twixt, #2) by Dawn Metcalf . I didn't realize there were going to be 4 books in this series!

I LOVE Em!!! She is so not the person she comes off as in the first book. So much depth to her! I can't wait to hear what you think! And then in book #3 you get Georgia, but more importantly you get LOGAN! And, while it was a bit awkward for me reading the story (b/c he is still in HS and all) I did really like it a lot.

That's why I put romance in quotations. Lol From what I remembered it was just the feeling that they may like each other as more than friends, and there wasn't really even that in the movie. It didn't bother me at all, I was so into the movie plot that anything possibly going on between them wasn't even on my radar!

Paula (littledarling2012) | 621 comments Starting to beta read Perfect Chaos (Unyielding, #1) by Nashoda Rose tonight. Cannot wait.

Finished Life After Taylah by Bella Jewel and it was good although some bits bugged me. Surprisingly it wasn't the cheating itself which normally is a deal-breaker for me. It was the fact that the significant others that were cheated on, were painted as cold-hearted, evil people. That just seemed like taking an easy way out to justify the main characters infidelity.

Belkis (bminaya) | 8313 comments So I finished our buddy read of Bully (Fall Away, #1) by Penelope Douglas and turned out better than I originally thought it'd be. Ended up enjoying it more and more as the story progressed. Then I read Unmasked Volume Three (Unmasked, #3) by Cassia Leo nice wrap up to this trilogy. Interesting story. Now reading and loving The Distance Between Us by Kasie West and getting ready to start our other buddy read Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling, #1) by Nalini Singh hoping to like this series more than I did her Guild Hunter series which I didn't really care for.

Donna | 1350 comments So I finished Friend-Zoned (Friend-Zoned, #1) by Belle Aurora last night & really liked it. Not too heavy, funny moments but I especially liked the mc voice. I've been a little picky lately about that, so she was right up my alley. ;) I started Twenty-Eight and a Half Wishes (Rose Gardner Mysteries, #1) by Denise Grover Swank but saw that Fallen Fourth Down (Fallen Crest High, #4) by Tijan is out(!!!) so I'm putting Rose aside & picking up FFD (after I quickly review the last book so I'm not missing anything). Sigh. I have a feeling I will be up late tonight. ;)
