What Are You Reading? 2015

I didn't notice any cliffhangers except for, was it book 3? When (view spoiler) It was a pretty good series but I didn't love it. Book 3 and 4 were the best IMO. Was definitely drawn out, but oh well. I finished them all anyway.["br"]>["br"]>

You didn't really Rebecca? I felt they all ended in a cliffhanger. I will probably finish because I have a hard time stopping a series like that but I just don't know when.

Well, I mean its a continuing story so nothing is ever really done until the last book. But I never felt like I was hanging off a cliff except for in book 3.

I agree with Rebecca. I only felt book #3 was the biggest cliffy.

I'm now starting

I loved, loved, loved Mal!!! Unfortunately I didn't like Jimmy's book near as much as the first two.

Me too Bridget, I'll read anything she writes. Anything.

Hmmm I don't have that one so I guess I need to get it then.

Between these I guess.

Now I like equal or more parts dialogue, sass, snark, not a lot of description but general enough. I like stories that pick up quickly, I'm sick of nothing picking up until 50%+ way through the book.
And as you can tell they are all part of the challenge lol.

Between these I guess.

Not sempre then. That book is so effing long! The first and second halves are also distinctly different. The Vincent boys is decent but thats about it. Havent read the other two.

Between these I guess.

Thanks. I hear Sempre is good, but it just takes a while then?

Between these I guess.

Sweet Gum Tree!!!!!!

Between these I guess.

Well, the first half is all mush and romance. Then the conflict starts in the second half and its action and life or death. I preferred the first half. The second half ruined it for me, but that's just me. But if you prefer the story to really delve in early, Sempre does not do that. Well, unless you think of the romance as the story.

I'm not sure if I prefer Maybe Someday or Ugly Love..... I think I like them equally, but in different ways if that makes sense. It's like, MS punched me in the gut with the whole Ridge/Sydney relationship, but Mile's story in UL is heart-wrenching. It just takes a while to get to the heart of it. Again, I'll just say that CoHo is brilliant!!

Between these I guess.

Gotcha, I'm just sick of having to go through even 50 some even 80% of the book before anything meaningful happens you know? Plus with being a moody reader if I'm not in the mood for it I just can't get into it.
I say idk what to read all the time lol.

Between these I guess.

I know it's good but does it get into it quick?

This is good for future comparison since I LOVED MS

Between these I guess.

Oh yeah, jumps right in pretty quick.

It's true they are both brilliant. And I gave them both 5 stars. But I just loved Ridge and Sidney's story line. I liked Miles and Tate's too, but it was very different. I guess they are kind of hard to compare.

Yes Bridget, she's the Queen of love for me :) I will everything this woman writes till the end of time!

Out of all the ones listed the only one I haven't read yet Danielle is The Vincent Boys. But of the 3 left, Sempre is my least favorite. I honestly didn't care for it. But Girl With Guitar was good, I still need to read book 2. And my absolute favorite is The Sweet Gum Tree. LOVED LOVED It! But it is emotional so don't know if you're in the mood for that. It's a fantastic read though.

So far I'm reading it and it's boring. Lol but I'm not that far into it either.

Did u go with

LOL! Yeah Laura when I first started reading this story I had thought it was going to be a trilogy too. But then I discovered, too late at that point having started book 2 and fallen totally in LOVE by then, that not only was it not going to be a trilogy but that it was going to be a 6 book series!!! UGH! Talk about torturous waiting but at the same time more books to anxiously look forward to hahahaha! OMG talk about love-hate!

Between these I guess.

Oh my gosh, you haven't read Sweet Gum Tree??!! I thought you had!! Read it now! Lol

Yes I did.

Yea I could see that I found myself wandering at times too. Yea that ending was good, but I almost felt like Sydney saying she is tired of all that and wants peace I really felt like it was Richelle saying she's sick of writing the series? Am I projecting? Lol

I'm sorry this didn't give you the feels:( it really did for me when I read it. It's probably in my top 5 favs of all time. It's one that I go back and read at least once a year.

Nbd I just prefer my stories to be told in a different way. But no worries I'll find one I like. I also very rarely give 5 stars. I do that when the book blows me away lol.

For me its the major cliffhangers. I understand one every now and then but every single book is ridiculous. Have enough confidence in your writing to know that your readers will come back. And that's not just JLA but for all of them that think they have to end every book that way.
