I agree, you could read them any time. I'm glad I read them first, though, since they are prequels. I loved having the information going into the books. Plus they were already out. When the first book came out the novellas were not available yet, so many didn't have the option.

You've got me hooked on the Kowalskis, Belkis! They are really good & kinda remind me of the Neighbor from Hell series, but not quite. I'm enjoying them.

Donna | 1350 comments Finished Yours to Keep (Kowalski Family, #3) by Shannon Stacey and now I'm reading Tall, Dark & Heartless (Pyte/Sentinel, #3) by R.L. Mathewson . So far out of the Pyte series, I'm really enjoying this one maybe the most… It's good.

yay! OMG Donna, I'm addicted to them hahahaha! Aunt Mary & Aunt Rose with their "big spoon" have me cracking up out loud constantly. And the matchmaking and plotting is hilarious. Love the family, small town, and sibling ribbing that goes on between them all :) And the kids with their games "of doooom" LMAO!

I still need to get back to The Neighbor From Hell series and still need to start reading The Pyte series but I did love the first Neighbor From Hell book and definitely plan on continuing them Donna.

Yup I loved loved the first book :D

Danielle (Danniegurl) (danniesreads) | 1326 comments I started Beg Me to Slay by Lisa Kessler and couldn't really get into it. I was about half way through. So I started On Dublin Street (On Dublin Street, #1) by Samantha Young and I really like it.

I loved Slammed, it blew me away that I still loved it despite the poetry (which I'm usually not a fan of). This was my first Colleen Hoover book so maybe her writing has improved and I haven't noticed because I've just grown with her?
PoR I wasn't so bothered about because I didn't feel she brought enough of a different angle to the story, we didn't really found out anything new (unlike Losing Hope which I thought was an excellent example of an alternative POV)
I loved This Girl (#3 of Slammed Series).

Ok as they're prequels I'll read them first. Thought I should check because in some series the novellas are set after certain books and don't make sense or have spoilers if not read in order.

I'm not that far into it but it is soooo much better than book one. Archeron is sooo much more fleshed out and there is actual plot and backstory in this one.

Hahaha! He's definitely infuriating but then the interesting ones usually are. I mostly like him :) Celaena can be quite a handful with her spit and fire LOL! And Dorian & Chaol have had their stellar moments to say the least. And General Aedion is another interesting character. Then the backstory of the witches with Manon brings a whole new layer of intrigue which I'm sure will become a major storyline in the future books. SO EXCITING!!!

Is this one the second one you have read Mel? Even though you don't have to read them in order it helps because in the other books it gives you a lot of insight into how Acheron works. Which is hot by the way. The first one wasn't very good for me either but they get better as the series goes on.

Yes, this is the second one for me. Archeron was the only interesting character in the first one and I'm liking his story so far, it's so good and sad. I'm glad that I decided to skip around a bit because the first one was a sloppy mess imo. I probably wouldn't have skipped quite so many books but I didn't know where exactly the series got better.

message 8544: by Nitzan (new)

Nitzan Schwarz (nitzanafterwords) I just started Adventures of a Graveyard Girl (Funeral Crashing, #2) by Milda Harris . I read the first one a couple of years back and I enjoyed it - so far, though, this reads so very young to me and has SO many mistakes! Like, it needs a better proofreader. Commas are missing, words repeat (in a way that makes no sense...)
Kind of disappointed :(

Danielle (Danniegurl) (danniesreads) | 1326 comments Finished On Dublin Street (On Dublin Street, #1) by Samantha Young , haven't written my review yet, but I liked it, it was what I was looking for, but I found myself bored of the sex scenes after a while. Me too. Crewel was just sort of meh. Another perfect example of cover lust LOL! I fell in love with that cover (the original cover) and the premise of the book lured me but the execution fell flat unfortunately. And even sadder is the fact that a friend gifted me the audio of book 2 hahahaha!
