Yeah sometimes additional POVs are good. They can bring clarity and interest in the best cases, like alternating between 2 MCs. And even 3 if necessary to the story. But some just get so out of hand with 5+ POVs and so many subplots that it makes the story confusing at times. I'm not going to lie, sometimes that just aggravates me too. Like the last BDB book The King?! It was great, I really liked it a lot. But I could've done without a few of the side stories and less POVs. Truly.

I didn't even see any reviews for it. The writing is, well, not good. And I got to chapter 4 and it was all telling, no showing. Character jumping from one scene to the next but no reason for the scene. Like "And we went to class and the teacher taught. Then class was over and I went to my locker. Then I went home and ate dinner. Finally I went to sleep." No joke it's written like that! WTH?

Oh goodness that's really bad. I thought I saw reviews for this one but there's only a 3 star rating here on GR and Amazon has 2 reviews posted and they're both 5 stars! On B&N there are 5 ratings and they're all over the place from 1 star to 5 star no reviews. Not good. Ugh.

nope, I'm not even rating it. If I can't get past 9% it's not worth it and wouldn't get more than a 1 from me. It was for a blog tour. So I've emailed the tour host to see if I can switch my stop. It looked like a good book, but, well, not for me.

I read this one a long time ago. I found it to be pretty good, not amazing, but good. I don't think you need to read the Mercy Thompson books first because I didn't. I read the first in the Mercy Thompson series a few years after this and only then realized some of the characters were interconnected.

Yeah Tracy, true story. Thank goodness he was able to get a decent break after all that. Although, I'm still sort of not okay with it. If Jane can be a phantom and Mary can be cured and Payne could be fixed, then why couldn't Wellsie be saved??!! Argh! This was so WRONG! Poor Tohr! Not fair I tell you. It's fiction, she could've made it happen somehow. As you can see, I'm not quite over this yet. Maybe after 5 more books I'll be able to move past it and make peace with it.

I've had this on in my kindle for a long time now Tracy but have been hesitant to read it because I've heard it's pretty dark/traumatic so I need to work up the courage to read it. And I guess this month my biggest courage expense is going to be allotted towards reading Forbidden. Another one I've been wanting to read but scared to dive into for a long time. So Tied Man will have to wait a little longer. How hard was it to get through emotionally? Easier or harder than Forbidden?

I guess I must be emotionally stunted. I thought I was a super emotional person. Maybe just not in this regard, because I had no trouble reading The Tied Man (The Tied Man, #1) by Tabitha McGowan . I got through it in 2 days. I found it fascinating.

Forbidden is more of a sweet kind of tragedy if that makes since. The Tied Man is dark but it's not so much the acts themselves but the mental that takes you. Tabitha wrote this in a way that I just sunk into the characters and most of the time felt like I was there and could talk to them. It was just very emotional for me.

I don't think that makes you a non emotional person Rebecca I think it just depends where you are in your life at the moment you read it. With any book the emotional state of the reader has a lot to do with how you feel. I know that someone can't endure what Finn did, not in real life, and be still sane but Tabitha just took me into the story and made me feel like it could.

So see Rebecca, nothing wrong with you at all! :)

I dont know. Maybe its the context. I dont seem to be bothered by sexual violence. Ppl think I am crazy for not being bothered by Clockwork Orange either. Loved that movie. Watched it alone as a teen. Didn't faze me.

Yet if I read a sad book (non-HEA) it will tear me apart. I avoid them like the plague!

Danielle (Danniegurl) (danniesreads) | 1326 comments Ughhhh finished Cry Wolf (Alpha & Omega, #1) by Patricia Briggs what a boring book. I rated it 3 but I really want to rate it 2 so I'm sitting at 3 right now to see if I digest it I'll feel better. But it was boring, a snooze fest, the romance, what romance was there? It just didn't jive. Not gunna follow the series. Also multi POVs is a major hang up of mine, however she did execute it well with only having a total of 4 POVs so it wasn't difficult to follow that way.
