Jasmine | 93 comments Yupp. Tonight's great! :D I'll be going out now so I'll come back later :)

Jasmine | 93 comments Haha. Sorry I'll change that in case it's confusing :P Anyways, in Sg that's how the date format is written :)

Mai is a Happy Bibliophile (thehappybibliophile) | 36 comments I'm excited to start this series. I'm itching to go home and grab my book. :D

Jasmine | 93 comments :P When are you coming back anyways? I hope the book will be good :D

Mai is a Happy Bibliophile (thehappybibliophile) | 36 comments Jasmine? Where art thou? :D

Jasmine | 93 comments I'm here! :D

Ohhh Harry & Travis - I don't really know who's better. :P

Mai is a Happy Bibliophile (thehappybibliophile) | 36 comments Me too. I think that's one thing I dislike about Mary. Clearly, she wants Travis but she also wants Harry.

Jasmine | 93 comments Travis is more adventurous though but he left Cass for Mary even though they were already betrothed.

Mai is a Happy Bibliophile (thehappybibliophile) | 36 comments And Cass fell for Harry in the short time they spent together.. but Harry still chose Mary. I wonder why..

I think I will be on team Harry, but things might change. :D

Jasmine | 93 comments But even before that, Travis was very indecisive. He did not make a proper decision - he claimed he would come for Mary but he later got together with Cass :(

Jasmine | 93 comments How about Harry? :D

He's kind of confusing. At first he said he wanted her but then when she got sent to the Sisterhood he didn't do anything.

It was only after a while when he again stated he wanted her.

Jasmine | 93 comments Mai btw, what chapter are you on now? :P

Mai is a Happy Bibliophile (thehappybibliophile) | 36 comments I know! The brewing love story is much more complicated than the idea of the Outside and the Unconsecrated!

I just have this weird feeling that Harry will turn out to be a good man. :D Gaaaaaaahhh. I really don't know! Let's hope for the best. :p

Which part are you on now?

Yeap probably. :D I think that Mary will explore on her own & perhaps Travis might come with her. That's just a guess :P

Haha. IKR! There seem to be much confusion. :P

I'm on chptr 12 :)

Mai is a Happy Bibliophile (thehappybibliophile) | 36 comments WOW! I'm still on Chapter 10. Haha!
What do you think about the writing?

Jasmine | 93 comments Hmmm how about Cass then? If she claimed she was in love with Harry & not Travis, then why didn't she agree to Mary's suggestion of swapping husbands-to-be? What do you think is her motive? Is she just jealous of Mary?

Mai is a Happy Bibliophile (thehappybibliophile) | 36 comments Jasmine wrote: "Hmmm how about Cass then? If she claimed she was in love with Harry & not Travis, then why didn't she agree to Mary's suggestion of swapping husbands-to-be? What do you think is her motive? Is she ..."

I think so. Cass fell for Harry but he still chose Mary. And then, Travis is all flirty with Mary too. I think Cass is afraid to be left alone or insecure with Mary.

Jasmine | 93 comments :D Okay!

Hmmm I like the literary writing. There's a lot of good description and the setting is really dark & mysterious :)

Yeah. I think that's most probably the case. :P I wonder what will happen to Cass next.

Btw, what do you think of Gabrielle? She just comes in the story & there's a really mysterious and creepy vibe about her :P

It kinda reminds me of Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea (Between, #1) by April Genevieve Tucholke . The writing is dark, beautiful and gothic. I can easily imagine myself into that world. And it's creepy.

Damn. I think the wicked Sister threw her into the fence! But I have no idea yet why she's faster than the other Undead.

Jasmine | 93 comments :) IKR! This book's setting is really eerie & lonely. It's like they're all trapped in one area and there's no other living thing out there (or so they thought).

Kinda reminds us of Defiance (Defiance, #1) by C.J. Redwine with all the walls and fences. :D

Hmm.. I think she's not infected yet when they first brought her in the Cathedral. I think she knows something important that's why the Sister threw her out. To keep her from passing the knowledge to the people inside.

Jasmine | 93 comments The fact that she came from the gate means there's hope that Mary could explore the outside world!

Heehee, I feel really excited :D

Me too! This book is very hard to put down.

Jasmine | 93 comments Ooops sorry for the double message! ><

I refreshed many times because once again Goodreads was over capacity :P

Mai is a Happy Bibliophile (thehappybibliophile) | 36 comments awww. >,< anyway, I started reading again and I'm on Chap 12. This is so exciting. :D

Jasmine | 93 comments You're around 105? The suspense is really building up!

Jasmine | 93 comments Haha IKR! Okay Mai, sorry in advance if I'm going to be late in replying. I'll come back online soon - off to eat lunch :P

That's okay Jas. :) I'm going to continue reading and let's chat again soon. :)

Jasmine | 93 comments Heyhey Mai! :D I'm back! :D Which part of the book are you at now? :D

Laura (blueeyebooks) | 56 comments Hey I'm here! My computer and I are at odds so I haven't been able to post but I've started reading!

Jasmine | 93 comments Heehee great to see you here Lauea! So what chptr are u at now? :)

Mai is a Happy Bibliophile (thehappybibliophile) | 36 comments Hey there Laura! So what do you think so far? :)

Laura (blueeyebooks) | 56 comments I just read the part where Harry decides to speak for Mary. I love it so far! I got really mad when I read that because now that he waited (and I think he did it a little out of guilt), she'll never be happy with him!

Mai is a Happy Bibliophile (thehappybibliophile) | 36 comments Laura wrote: "I just read the part where Harry decides to speak for Mary. I love it so far! I got really mad when I read that because now that he waited (and I think he did it a little out of guilt), she'll ne..."

I know right? And I really did not understand Harry's intentions on doing so. The whole love story's more complicated than the story itself. :p

Laura (blueeyebooks) | 56 comments Yes exactly! I have no idea why he would do that - he asked her to the Harvest Festival and she as good as said yes and then he just gave up on her and then he comes back expecting her to be grateful for him 'saving' her from the Sisterhood! The whole situation is messed up! I really like how the relationship are set up and it's not the normal love triangle though.

Mai is a Happy Bibliophile (thehappybibliophile) | 36 comments Not really normal. How about the writing style? What do you think about it?

Laura (blueeyebooks) | 56 comments It's really descriptive but also really vague in a way. The author doesn't really elaborate on the emotions and the settings but some how that makes it better. You can infer from what she does write and I like this better than being spoon-fed the details because that's the beauty of a book (at least to me) - that you can imagine it all/most of it. What about you?

Mai is a Happy Bibliophile (thehappybibliophile) | 36 comments I agree with vague. I also like the atmosphere the author has created. I can feel the gloom, the desperation and the isolation. It's dark and gothic.
i guess it's descriptive in a sense that there's very few dialogues between the characters. It's more of Mary's inner monologue or something.

Laura (blueeyebooks) | 56 comments I get that vibe as well. And it seems like their world has been sucked dry of emotion except for Mary. They're all about commitment which is pretty much they're only passion. Mary is the only one who wants more. That's the trait that most defines her to me and I think it'll lead her to interesting places because she is the only one willing to go.

Mai is a Happy Bibliophile (thehappybibliophile) | 36 comments True. She's very strong-willed and like most strong YA heroine, she's not satisfied with people telling her to stick to the rules. How about Sister Tabitha and the Sisterhood? How do you feel about them?
