Okay once again OWN won me over with a show marathon. I love this show! It's cheesy soap goodness. The villianess Candace is everything. I love a good bad girl. She's so good, that even after successfully blackmailing a judge, he still comes back for more.

I got addicted from the very beginning. Season two just started. Haven't seen the first episode of season two yet. I dvr'd it and will watch it later.

Much better than any daytime soap out now. My 14 hours of unwatched General Hospital episodes that are sitting on my DVR feel morelike homework than entertainment. LOL
I feel the same way. I hate daytime soap operas, so I don't watch them. And if it doesn't have Madea in it, I won't like it regardless if it's a Tyler Perry movie and who is in it.

Instead she's Erica Kane dipped in chocolate. Love it.
It's funny(to me) that this series is based on that movie. To me it's nothing like it. I know it's been awhile since I've seen it, but I don't see many similarities between the two other than the rich white family and the poor black family theme. I agree with you about Candace being like Erica Kane. LOL!
If they let Wyatt get away with murder I'm done watching.

She has me spittin' mad by the end of every interaction with Candice. Yes her daughter is a wicked piece, but she didn't get there by herself. It's been alluded that Hannah used to be a mess herself in her younger days. The way she reacted to Candice's story about her child....Hannah can go, and take the badly acted and written Amanda with her. lol
@Pagan I want to throw something through the television when Hannah comes on with her self righteous attitude. Tue cruel way she treats Candice and she didn't bother to tell Benny that Candice still thought he was dead when he woke up and asked for her. So I'm waiting to see what will happen tonight.

And even when Candice tried to help her in court, she crapped all over that too. Yet she had so much compassion for the woman whose son almost killed yours. Catherine is supposed to be her counterpoint except she is likable despite her flaws. I love every time she says, "9" or whatever the number of the maid is..
LOL! The number names are a trip. I have a hard time with Catherine too and Jeffrey get some back bone already!!!

Jeffrey is a suntan and a mental break away from Norman Bates, if you ask me.
I watched it for the first time last night since the first season. IT WAS GOOD TONIGHT! My parents watch it so I kind of know some of the drama. I think (view spoiler) Jeffery defiantly needs to grow a pair! His timidness annoys me. I'm really hoping (view spoiler) I cannot wait until next year! It's seriously like 5 months away!
@Megan my mother started me to watching when she came out to visit me I usually don't enjoy Tyler Perry productions nothing personal they just aren't for me. However this series i like and the Medea Christmas movie I enjoyed and the IR marriage in the movie made me want to support and it turned out to be good. Yes Jeffrey is too weak and how he is always looking down when he is talking to someone I can't stand that. I don't think he's weird or creepy I just think he needs to man up and embrace who he is and tell his mother to back off and as good a friend that Candice has been to him took him in when he had nowhere else to go he still held the truth from her about Benny just to protect Wyatt.

Sneaking laying next to him and obsessing in a weird way (to me). It's not the gay thing, because if he were doing that to woman, it would be worthy of a restraining order too.
Oh yeah I remember that Pagan and I agree. I thought the same thing about him he does seem a bit obsessed with Wyatt.

I also think Wyatt is gay only he just doesn't realize it yet, or he's in denial.

Honestly out of all the characters Hannah is my least favorite I just can't get with the way she treats her daughter inspire of her faults she has absolutely no compassion for Candice at all. Catherine is my next least favorite she's full of hot air an empty threats when it comes to Jim.
Do you guys see a plausible way for Candice and Jim to hook back up, because they are what got me watching. I just want them to constantly one up each other, but can't stay away because they are a match made in hell. They are equally yoked. lol

You guys are so cool. But I just can't go here with Tyler Perry. If Shonda Rimes did this, I'd be all over it, but Perry's issues with black women are just too much for me to stomach. However, I'll just let you all keep me on top vicariously, lol.

@Pagan you are too funny!!! FPD I feel you about Tyler Perry and I agree. I don't watch his movies because of that very reason however I like this series. Debbi I agree but Hannah is such a hypocrite. Her past isn't a bed of roses. I can see holding her responsible for her actions but to treat her the way she does. She never once told her she loved her despite the things she has done.

I get the feeling she has never loved, or even liked that child. If she hates her son's father, but still loves Benny. Either Candice's father was even worse, or she sees too much of the things she can't stand about herself, in her daughter. That coldness Candice radiates, was gotten honestly. It's that same iciness Hannah gives her.
@PenDiva Like AW said, normally have a lot of qualifiers on me trying a Tyler Perry production. It's not on ethical grounds, just has a tendency to go into actors trying to overcompensate for corny dialogue by chewing all the scenery up like Pac Man. I think if you aren't already partial to camp, this show wouldn't be for you. It's just everything daytime soap opera used to be in the 80's and 90's; which I personally love.
I have to agree, Hannah is a hypocrite.
Do you ever think being a reader makes you see too deep into fictional things? Reading that previous post even made me think, "Dang, girl it's just a show..." lol
I tell myself the same thing when I catch myself getting in too deep with a tv show or a book, especially when I talk about them with other people. I do remind myself that it's just a tv show or just a book, but it's not my fault the show and/or book are just too good I can't help but get pulled in too deep. Did any of that make any sense. Should I mention that I'm also deeply addicted to Scandal too? LOL!!!
@Pagan I think the reason we get so passionate about some of the things we watch on TV or the characters we read about in books is even though we know it's make believe we can also relate to some of it to real life. For instance watching an innocent child become a victim of a hit and run and the person who committed the crime can get away with it just because he comes from a family with a lot of money to get him off it still strikes a nerve because it's human nature to want to stand for the victim especially a child whether it is in real life or in the world of fiction. However sometimes I do have to stop myself from slamming down a book or yelling at the TV from time to time lol.

"Debbie, I don't know how it happened, but have never watched one episode of Scandal. By the time I wanted to, thought it was too late to just jump in and get it. One day I'm going to download the first season, and binge watch. Being a fan of IR, and not watching Scandal rates right up there with my other puzzling biker romance obsession but never watching Sons Of Anarchy.
Love biker romances, but have never been the slightest interested in SOA
SOA is my mother's favorite show. I've never watched it either. I missed the last four episodes of season 3 of Scandal. I'm going to miss Columbus Short.
