Science Fiction & Fantasy Editor

I certainly edit for the love of it (it's no get-rich-quick or even get-rich-slowly career choice, hehe), but I do charge professional rates as I work to a high standard and this is how I make my living. If you need super-cheap editing, I'm probably not the right editor for you, but if your budget allows for professional editing, please do get in touch.
You can get a good idea of industry standard rates at the EFA's website. My fees compare well with these: http://www.the-efa.org/res/rates.php
Thanks, and best wishes in your search for the right editor for you! :)
I'm a professional editor who specializes in science fiction and fantasy. I offer Manuscript Editing (focused on strengthening big-picture elements like plot, character and scenes) and Line Editing (sentence-level analysis focused on clarity, consistency, and style -- and on making sure your words convey exactly what you intended!).
Please email me with an excerpt of your manuscript, and let me know your thoughts on what kind of editing you might need; e.g. Are you concerned about any specific weaknesses in the story or prose, or are you looking for a broader analysis to give you fresh ideas on how to improve the whole piece?
I'll review your writing, perform a free sample edit on a page or two, and get back to you with detailed editorial notes and a quote for the recommended work. This way, you can see whether my editing style would be a good fit for your story before committing to anything. You can also find out more about me and view my portfolio at www.marissavu.com.
Happy writing, and I hope we can work together on some great fiction!
Warm regards,
Marissa van Uden
