I don't recognize your books Hally. However, I have a few questions to help with finding it.
When did you read this? Was there a lot of words or mostly just the pictures? Was it old or new when you read it (or had it read to you?)
Also, this needs to be down in Unsolved so that people will know that you are looking for it. I've moved it for you.

Hally, you ended up with duplicate threads. I deleted the other one to minimize confusion and repeat the suggestion I made there:
Merry Thanksgiving
Even if it's not the right book, it does involve a Christmas list mix-up with a grocery list being sent to Santa, so this might help a future searcher.

Well I think I was an older child when I read this so about 8 or 9 and there were quite a few words not just a couple on each page. In fact I'm not even sure if there were pictures inside but there was a picture of animals somewhere, maybe on the cover and then a couple of those light sketched inside but not many? It was probably quite new when I read it which was in the 90s.
My family don't remember it either so I'm starting to wonder whether I've made it all up! Very strange.

More info from Novelist:Charlotte mistakenly sends the wrong Christmas list to Santa, but the results prove beneficial to the starving animals outside her home.

I'm trying to remember the name of a children's (picture?) book about a little girl whose Christmas list to Santa gets mixed up with her mother's grocery list. She ends up with all these carrots and milk and stuff in her stocking but puts them to good use because it snows heavily on Christmas day and the animals outside are all hungry and cold so she takes care of them with the groceries (gives cats milk and donkeys carrots etc) and feels like it was the best Christmas because she had done a good deed.
I don't remember anything else about it! Has been annoying me for ages.
:)
